PITTSBURGH (AP) Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant says he understands why quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has challenged him to step up his game.

Roethlisberger took Bryant to task earlier this week for lackluster play late in the season. Bryant finished with just two receptions for six yards over his final two games, a sour end to an occasionally brilliant second season.

Bryant said Wednesday that Roethlisberger ''woke him up'' and that he'll be ready to go on Saturday night when Pittsburgh travels to Cincinnati in the AFC wild-card round.
