Heisman Trophy winner and Alabama running back Derrick Henry will enter the 2016 NFL draft.
The news was first reported Thursday by ESPN’s Joe Schad.
Henry, who rushed for a school record 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, was an integral part of the Crimson Tide’s national championship winning squad this season.
Along with the Heisman, Henry captured the Doak Walter Award for the country’s best college running back, as well as the Walter Camp Award and Maxwell Award for best American college football player in 2015.
Alabama defeated Clemson 45–40 on Monday night, allowing Alabama to claim its 16th national title.
