The Carolina Panthers increased their lead over the Arizona Cardinals to 24–7 late in the second quarter on Sunday after a fumble by punt returner Patrick Peterson.

The Panthers punted away the ball with just under five minutes remaining in the second, but Peterson was unable to make a clean catch, fumbling the ball away to Carolina.

After Jonathan Stewart helped get them down near the goal line, Cam Newton dove in for a one-yard score to pad the Panthers’ lead.
