Friday January 29th, 2016

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams has been cleared to fully return to play after being diagnosed with kidney cancer in May 2015, he announced Thursday.

Williams, 25, had been cleared to do light workouts in June after having surgery to remove the affected kidney.

The native of Brisbane, Australia was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He has yet to play a snap for the Seahawks, suffering knee injuries that cut his first two seasons short.

William played two seasons at Alabama, after transferring from Arizona Western College.
