The Washington Redskins have signed free-agent defensive end Ziggy Hood to a one-year deal, reports Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan.

Hood suited up for just two games in 2015 with Chicago Bears after starting the season on injured reserve due to a foot injury. He began the season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released and eventually signed by Chicago.

Hood spent 2014 with the Jaguars and logged 17 tackles and a sack. He played the first five seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording his best season in 2013 when he picked up 26 tackles and three sacks.

The 6'3", 300-pound defensive end has played in 98 games since being drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. He also saw some time at nose tackle in Pittsburgh.
