The Carolina Panthers have released offensive tackle Nate Chandler, the team announced Thursday.

Chandler, 26, joined the Panthers in 2012 after being undrafted out of UCLA. He started the last eight games of the 2013 season, as well as the first 11 of 2014, before sustaining a knee injury that kept him out of the remainder of that season and all of the 2015 campaign.

Chandler tweeted Thursday expressing his gratitude to the Panthers.

“My dad always told me ‘life is a journey not a destination’ and today I truly understand. I want to thank the Panthers for everything,” Chandler wrote.
