Former Duke quarterback Anthony Boone is considering a lawsuit against Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson after the car crash that hospitalized him, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Boone was released from the hospital on Saturday, almost one week after sustaining hand and hip injuries caused by a head-on collision with Thompson.

Thompson, who had alcohol in his system but was not impaired at the time of the crash, was cited for crossing the center line of the road and hitting Boone’s SUV head-on. The collision resulted in $45,000 of damage to the two vehicles.

Boone, who is Duke’s winningest quarterback and played for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes last season, underwent surgeries to repair a broken hip and torn ligaments in his hand.

Boone’s agent, Adam Sattler, said they would wait to discuss pursuing legal action against Thompson until the quarterback is further along in his recovery.
