The New England Patriots have claimed former Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd off waivers, according to multiplereports.

The Cardinals cut Floyd this week following a DUI arrest Monday morning. The former first round pick has 33 receptions on the season for 446 yards and four touchdowns.

Floyd appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of his car when police found his car running in the early hours of Monday morning. He refused to submit a blood-alcohol breath test or blood draw and so officers obtained a warrant for his blood. The wide receiver was held on suspicion of two counts of DUI, one count of obstructing a roadway and one count of failure to obey a police officer.

With Rob Gronkowski done for the season and a wide receiver corps beginning to run thin, the Patriots will take a chance on the talented but inconsistent Floyd, who had faded as part of the Arizona passing game. New England is on the verge of clinching a playoff spot.
