Monday update: Tracking 49ers Personnel moves

On Monday the San Francisco 49ers formally announced that running back Jerick McKinnon was placed on the Injured Reserve List, with means he will be out for the season.

The team also announced Monday he signing of DB Antone Exum Jr**.** and OL Matt Tobin to one-year deals. In order to make room on the roster, the team placed S Marcell Harris and The team has also signed OL Zack Golditch to the practice squad.

Exum Jr. (6-0, 219) spent training camp with the 49ers and was released by the team on September 1, 2018.

Exum Jr. will wear number 38.

Tobin (6-6, 310) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 29, 2013. In four years with the Eagles (2013-16), he appeared in 42 games (21 starts) and one postseason contest along the offensive line. On August 22, 2017, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks where he appeared in 15 games last season. Tobin signed with the New England Patriots on March 17, 2018 and was released by the team on September 1.

A 28-year-old native of Dyersville, IA, Tobin appeared in 29 games (22 starts) in five years (2008-12) at the University of Iowa. As a senior in 2012, he started all 12 games for the Hawkeyes, playing both tackle and guard.

Tobin will wear number 64.

Golditch (6-5, 295) originally signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 11, 2018 out of Colorado State University. In five years with the Rams (2013-17), he appeared in 43 games (38 starts) along the offensive line. As a senior in 2017, he started all 13 games and earned First-Team All-Mountain West honors.

On Saturday, the team announced the release of 21 players and placed defensive lineman Kentavius Street on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List.

In addition, the NFL placed wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr. and linebacker Reuben Foster on the Reserve/Suspended List.

The players released by the 49ers were defensive lineman Niles Scott and Jeremiah Attaochu, wide receivers Aaron Burbridge and Steven Dunbar Jr., tight ends Ross Dwelley and Cole Hikutini, offensive linemen Jonathan Cooper, Coleman Shelton, Andrew Lauderdale and Najee Toran, defensive backs Antone Exum Jr., Dexter McCoil, Tarvarus McFadden, Emmanuel Moseley and Tyvis Powell, linebackers Korey Toomer and Pita Taumoepenu, running backs Malcolm Johnson, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Jeremy McNichols and quarterback Nick Mullens.

On Sunday, the 49ers signed nine players to the practice squad:
