Darrelle Revis could be released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as soon as today if they cannot trade him.

One possible destination for Revis? New England, which has emerged as a serious trade partner after Aqib Talib signed with the Broncos on Tuesday.

Revis, who has 21 interceptions and 109 pass deflections in seven NFL seasons, reportedly "would love to be a Patriot," and all it will take to pry him loose is a fifth-round pick, according to Jason La Canfora of While New England doesn't have a fifth-round pick this season, they have two in the sixth round.

The Patriots might not need that pick, though. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, a Revis trade is unlikely at this stage. The Patriots also have more than $14.4 million in cap space, according to Erik Frenz of
