The 2014 NFL draft quarterback class is one of the most intriguing groups of signal-callers in recent years, with no single player emerging from the group as the consensus best quarterback available.
Depending on who you ask, you will hear votes for Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater, but one player outside of that group believes he is deserving of the No. 1 ranking.
Enter Fresno State's Derek Carr.
Carr appeared on NFL AM Tuesday morning (find the full clip below) and shared his belief that he is "absolutely" the best quarterback prospect in this year's class. If you do not believe him, he suggests you go turn on some tape.
"Absolutely," he said when asked if he was the best QB in the class. "And I say that with respect to all the other guys because they're great competitors and all those good things. And it's not easy for me to answer a question like that but I absolutely think so.
"There's no doubt in my mind. We can turn the film on, sit down and watch it and we'll talk about it and I'll convince you."
Carr has met with a number of teams selecting in the top 10 of the draft, so he may not have to do much convincing. All Carr will need is one team who believes he is a potential franchise quarterback.
He likely won't be the top quarterback selected, but Carr will have an opportunity to back up his claims when he takes the field as a rookie.
