Watch: Pat Mahomes Leaves Game After Suffering Big Hit Against Browns

Mahomes left the game in the third quarter

CINCINNATI — Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes left Sunday's game against the Browns due to a head injury he suffered on a third down run. He’s been diagnosed with a concussion and won’t return.

Cleveland linebacker Mack Wilson tackled him short of the first down marker. Mahomes' head hit the ground hard. He was clearly shaken up.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP stumbled a bit before being helped to the sideline.

Mahomes spent a short time in the blue medical tent before jogging to the locker room.

The Chiefs' drive ended with a field goal. Kansas City leads Cleveland 22-10 with 4:24 remaining in the third quarter.

The Browns answered with a touchdown of their own to cut the lead to 22-17 early in the fourth quarter.

Veteran quarterback Chad Henne will have to guide the Chiefs to victory.
