Aaron Rodgers, Packers Close to Agreement That Would Allow Him to Depart After 2021 Season
Aaron Rodgers is expected to report for training camp after the Packers made concessions that will keep the reigning MVP in Green Bay for one more year according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The new agreement would put Rodgers in a position to leave the Packers next offseason.
"Over the past weekend, the two sides were able to reach mutually-agreed upon terms that are close to convincing Aaron Rodgers to abandon plans he had to skip training camp and instead return for it," Schefter tweeted. "Concessions do not include more money."
Rodgers hinted at potentially returning to the Packers for one more season on social media over the weekend. It looks like that's exactly what's going to happen, with Green Bay doing what they needed to do to get their star back for one final year.
The agreement isn't finalized, but it sounds like it's close to the finish line.
