Bengals Legend Geno Atkins is Visiting an NFC Contender
CINCINNATI — Bengals legend Geno Atkins is visiting the Seattle Seahawks on Monday according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Atkins is fully recovered after undergoing rotator cuff surgery. If the 33-year-old signs with Seattle, he would reunite with defensive end Carlos Dunlap. The duo helped Cincinnati's defense become one of the best in the league from 2011-15.
Atkins worked out for the Seahawks on Monday according to Josina Anderson.
"At this point it's up to him and how much [he wants]," she tweeted.
It looks like the eight-time Pro Bowler could be Seattle-bound.
The Bengals took Atkins in the fourth-round (120th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played in 96 consecutive games before suffering a shoulder injury last August that forced him to miss half the season. He was ineffective when he was on the field due to the injury, which has hurt his value in free agency.
Now that he's fully healed, he could be a big-time addition to the middle of the Seahawks' defense.
