CINCINNATI — The Raiders have contacted the Bengals about requesting an interview with Trey Brown for their vacant general manager job according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Brown became a scout for the Bengals last June. He spent six years in Philadelphia from 2013-18 and also had stints in the Alliance of American Football and the XFL.
The Raiders interviewed Brown for their general manager job before ultimately hiring Mike Mayock in 2017. It sounds like Mark Davis has his eyes on Brown once again.
After spending some time with both of the recent spring leagues, Trey Brown is back on the NFL GM radar. The current Bengals exec has caught the Raiders’ attention.
"Trey brings a lot of experience in a lot of different roles. He has a great data base of players and he expands our coverage in so many different areas," Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin told Geoff Hobson last June. "Our scouts here play a lot of different roles and they scout in a lot of different areas and they're relied on to provide opinions both on the pro side and college side and Trey fits that mold to a tee and he comes in ready made to contribute."
