Tee Higgins Left Off of PFWA All-Rookie Team

Higgins led the Bengals in receptions as a rookie

CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins had a record-setting season.

The 22-year-old finished with 67 receptions, which tied Cris Collinsworth for the most catches by a rookie in team history.

Higgins would've broken the record, but he suffered a hamstring injury in the Bengals' season finale against Baltimore. He hauled in his 68th catch on their first drive, but the reception was nullified due to a penalty and Higgins was injured at the end of the play.

He finished his rookie campaign with 908 yards and six touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to make the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

Vikings star wide-out Justin Jefferson and Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool made the team.

Jefferson was an obvious choice. He finished with 88 receptions for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns. He was lightning in a bottle for Minnesota this season.

Claypool got the nod over Higgins. He finished with 62 receptions, 873 yards and nine touchdowns.

Higgins had more yards and receptions, but three fewer touchdowns. Claypool also averaged more yards-per catch (14.1-13.6).

Cowboys rookie CeeDee Lamb also deserved serious consideration. He finished with 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns.
