It was a slow start for Josh Allen and the Bills Sunday against Miami.

Their first three drives resulted in three field goals - points are always good but, this was coming against a winless Miami team.

The second half was different - Buffalo started the third quarter with an interception by Tre'Davious White and capped off the turnover with a touchdown drive and took a lead they wouldn't relinquish the remainder of the game.

The responding drive saw Buffalo go 98 yards, with big throws by Allen to Duke Williams (23 yards), Frank Gore (11 yards), Cole Beasley (8 yards) and a touchdown pass to John Brown for 20 yards).

Allen put the exclamation point on the momentum shift by running in the two-point conversion and emphatically throwing the ball into the stands.

"I thought he played a clean game for the most part," Head Coach Sean McDermott said. "I thought the line did a pretty good job of protecting him and giving him time and then he made plays with his arm and was going through his reads and if and when necessary he made plays with his feet. He was smart with the ball."

Allen finished the day with 202 yards passing and two touchdowns, the second one going to Cole Beasley off of another forced Buffalo turnover. Allen also added 32 yards rushing, finishing second to Gore for the Bills ground game.

The versatility of Allen has impressed Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

"I think there are guys who definitely rise up and Josh has done a good job to this point in his short career of being able to respond in adverse situations," Daboll said Monday afternoon. "He is a young player who prepares himself well and when he is put in adverse situations he has been able to execute."
