Finding Broncos: College football Week 3 games that should interest Denver

The Broncos had better have some scouts out at these four college football games.

Heading into the third week of the college football season, there are some big games the Denver Broncos should have scouts present for. There are four games in particular that stand out as having some great prospects worth looking at.

Here are the four games of interest that feature players Denver should be watching.

UCF vs. Stanford

UCF's Richie Grant is a good safety prospect. Stanford will be a good test for him to show what he can do in the secondary. Outside of him, no one really stands out on UCF for the 2020 draft.

Stanford, on the other hand, has a bunch of interesting NFL prospects. The Cardinal are a good pipeline for offensive linemen that have multiple prospects for NFL teams to keep an eye on.

There is also K.J. Costello, who is a good quarterback prospect but missed their last game with an injury. Junior David Mills stepped in and had a very impressive performance.

Stanford tight end Colby Parkinson and running back Cameron Scarlett are also on the NFL radar with Parkinson being a top-5 prospect at his position.

Paulson Adebo is a fast riser and is a top-3 cornerback on many draftniks' big boards.

Alabama vs. South Carolina

The Crimson Tide are loaded with draft prospects, and teams should be watching them every game they play. Tu’a Tagovailoa, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Raekwon Davis are just a few of the headliners on that team and are at the top or towards the top of their positions for the draft.

Alex Leatherwood is a left tackle to watch after moving there from guard. Dylan Moses was the top linebacker before he was lost for the year. Defensive backs Shyheim Carter, Trevon Diggs and Xavier McKinney are all NFL-caliber players.

Alabama also has pass rushers Anfernee Jenning and Terrell Lewis, who can play on Sundays. This is a loaded Alabama team.

As for South Carolina, they don’t quite have the talent of Alabama but they have a good amount themselves. WR Bryan Edwards and DL Javon Kinlaw are prospects to watch.

Edwards is in a tough receiver class and this is a chance to really help himself. As for Kinlaw, the defensive line class is replete with talent. In a game that has another top defensive lineman, Kinlaw can boost himself to the top.

John Elway has never drafted an Alabama player and looking at their stacked roster, that very likely could change this year.

Florida vs. Kentucky

The Gators are another team that is loaded with draft prospects. They have a top CB in C.J. Henderson and a top pass rusher in Jabari Zuniga. Both prospects aren’t quite at the very top, but they are near it. Zuniga will have a hard time rising to the top of boards with Chase Young and A.J. Epenesa as part of that class.

Florida's center, Nick Buchanan is an intriguing prospect, but the real prize on offense is Lamical Perine. A year ago, Perine averaged 6.8 yards per touch and 6.2 yards per carry. It is a tough running back group, but Perine can still help himself and work into the top-5. Van Jefferson is another offensive prospect that has the attention of the NFL.

There isn’t a prospect on Kentucky like they had for the 2019 draft, but they do have some mid/late round prospects worth keeping an eye on. Logan Sternberg is an interior OL that has a chance to be the first Kentucky player off the board. However, they also have defensive players T.J. Carter, Calvin Taylor, Kash Daniel and Jordan Griffin that could be options in the later rounds if they step up their game.

Hawaii vs. Washington

Hawaii QB Cole McDonald is a good prospect that has some fans in NFL circles, and the more I see of him the more NFL potential there is. He is the headliner of the team and for good reason, but cutting interceptions is a must. There are some defensive prospects, but they have a long road ahead of them.

Washington, on the other hand, is another loaded team. There are a few offensive linemen that teams are keeping an eye on, but QB Jacob Eason and WR Aaron Fuller are the real prospects on offense. So far, both players have really helped themselves and should continue to help themselves. Eason has looked like a top-5 QB, but he needs to prove he can sustain it for an entire season.

There are plenty of NFL prospects in college. Each game has them. These handful of games stand out, though, and the Broncos need to have reps there.

Not everyone is the best fit for the Broncos, but they are a coaching staff that adapts to the players and just looks for talent.
