Report: Broncos Unwilling To Trade Von Miller

Despite the scuttlebutt, Von Miller isn't going anywhere.

With the Denver Broncos opening the season 0-4, the question of whether the front office would commence a firesale on veteran talent was bandied about as a matter of course in the blogosphere and local radio.

Von Miller was tied to multiple reports in the rumor mill last week as a prime target for NFL teams looking to exploit the Broncos' situation. While we probably shouldn't completely rule out of the possibility of Denver making a few key vets currently in a contract year available on the trade block, Miller's name should be stricken from the list completely.

9NEWS' Mike Klis reported on Sunday, following the Broncos' 20-13 victory over the L.A. Chargers, that Miller is completely off the table as trade piece.

With trade rumors swirling, 9News has been told by a Broncos source close to general manager John Elway the team is not trading Von Miller.

He is simply too talented, is still the Broncos’ most gifted player, and his contract runs through 2021.

Klis went on to say that guys like Chris Harris, Jr. and Emmanuel Sanders aren't currently being considered as trade pieces. But it's the NFL.

If the Broncos fail to turn the ship around here in the second quarter of the season, Elway would be remiss to not consider offers as both guys are in the last year of their contracts and not expected to return to Denver in 2020 and beyond.

Miller is under contract for two more years beyond 2019 and when Bradley Chubb went down with a season-ending ACL tear, the possibility of the Broncos moving their most talented player became moot.

The Broncos can't afford a life without Von Miller and unless the seven-time Pro Bowler tries to force his way out of the Mile High City, which I can't see happening (he loves Vic Fangio), Miller is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
