Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Football Team - Live Game Thread
The Cleveland Browns (1-1) are set to host the Washington Football Team (1-1) at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. This week three matchup is the Cleveland Browns first chance to have a record over .500 since 2014. Head coach Kevin Stefanski is looking to build upon a victory in week two in primetime. QB Baker Mayfield also aims to prove doubters wrong and play a clean game without turnovers.
On the flip side the Washington Football Team is looking to rebound after losing to the Arizona Cardinals on the road. Head coach Ron Rivera aims to get the offense off to fast start after struggling in the first half in both games this season. The offense is led by 2019 first round pick Dwayne Haskins, who is still looking for consistency throughout the game.

First Quarter
Cleveland Browns get the ball first as Mayfield and the offense takes the field.
First play of the game is a 12-yd screen pass to Austin Hooper after a couple pump fakes to freeze the pass rush.
Followed up by a 4-yd run by Nick Chubb. Mayfield moves the chains with a first down pass to Jarvis Landry.
Kevin Stefanski works the screen game with another solid gain by Austin Hooper, who now has two catches.
After a false start penalty, Hunt drops the pass on the 3rd & 6 and Browns are forced to punt. Jamie Gillan pins Washington inside their own 10-yd line.
Dwayne Haskins hands it off to Antonio Gibson for quick run. Then finds Logan Thomas for a first down.
Washington run hurry up offense, Haskins finds Isaiah Wright for another first down. Logan Thomas makes another catch, and Denzel Ward is penalized for unnecessary roughness.
On 1st down, Haskins take his first shot downfield to Terry McLaurin and Terrance Mitchell is in great coverage.
Larry Ogunjobi blows up J.D. McKissic in the backfield to cause third and long.
On 3rd & 15, Terrance Mitchell blankets McLaurin again and Washington is forced to punt.
Browns offense is on the field and Jedrick Wills gets called for his second false start of the quarter.
On 3rd & 9, Mayfield rolls out and finds Beckham on the right sideline for a toe-tap first down.
Another 3rd & 9 another Mayfield is sacked by Jonathan Allen. Washington leads the NFL in sacks with 12. Gillan comes out again to punt.
On 2nd & 7, WR Antonio Gandy-Golden takes a jet sweep for 22 yards before being blown up by Karl Joseph.
Haskins almost throws an interception but Denzel Ward is tackled and drops the interception.
Haskins has his first reception of the game for 21 yards after beating Malcom Smith on a quick out.
Washington's quick tempo carries and they work into the Browns redzone.
Haskins throws a 19-yd strike to Dontrell Inman between Ward and Sendejo for a TD.

Nick Chubb is still being bottled up by the tenacious front four of Washington.
On 3rd & 6, Mayfield finds Jarvis Landry for a first down as the first quarter ends.
Second Quarter
Nick Chubb has his first decent run of the day with 6 yards on first down. Then follows it up with another six yards on second down.
Off of playaction Mayfield throws a wobbly ball and it almost intercepted but Beckham knocks it down.
Stefanski goes for it on 4th down and finds Austin Hooper underneath and convert.
Nick Chubb still facing a stout run defense and Mayfield misses Harrison Bryant high on 3rd & 5.
Cody Parkey knocks in his first field goal of the season. Browns on the board.
Washington 7 - Browns 3
Browns defense line continue to bottle up the run game. On second down Terry McLaurin finds the spot of the zone for a first down.
Injury Update: DE Chase Young is OUT for the remainder of the game with a groin injury.
3rd & 10 and Terry McLaurin is wide open underneath for a big 33-yd gain. Logan Thomas had a natural pick on Terrance Mitchell to free up McLaurin.
Wes Martin is flagged for holding on 1st down. On 1st & 20, Tavierre Thomas makes a big TFL on Gibson.
On 2nd & 25, Karl Joseph intercepts Haskins and returns it for a huge gain. He fumbles the ball but it is recovered by Tavierre Thomas.
Baker Mayfield finds Odell Beckham in the slot on a slant for a first down!
Nick Chubb finds the cutback and rumbles in for a 16-yd touchdown. Browns back on top!
Browns 10 - Washington 7
The Browns force a quick three and out as Myles Garrett sacks Haskins, pulling him down by a thread.
Landry shows extremely strong hands and makes a very contested catch on second down. Hunt is quickly stuffed on a run for 3rd & 1.
Browns go three and out and are forced to punt
Washington pinned inside their own 20, Sheldon Richardson bats down Haskins pass at the line of scrimmage.
After another short run Browns create 3rd & 7, as time reaches the two minute warning.
Malcom Smith picks off Haskins and continues his excellent play in coverage.
Nick Chubb makes Ryan Kerrigan miss in the backfield and churns forward for a ten yard run.
Chubb get his number called again for a 4-yd run. Hunt motions out wide to empty set and catches a hitch for a 7yd touchdown catch,
Browns 17 - Washington 7
Dwayne Haskins continues to struggle in the first half and both his turnovers turn into Browns scores.
Antonio Gibson runs for a first down and stay in bounds. Then catches a quick pass but fumbles to end the quarter.
Halftime
Third Quarter
Antonio Gibson churns forward six yards to create 3rd & 2.
Haskins holds the ball and is sacked by Dwayne Haskins to force a punt. D'Ernest Johnson now catching punts with Jojo Natson nursing an injury.
Browns quickly go three and out. Mayfield is almost sacked on 2nd down and is flagged for intentional grounding causing 3rd & long.
Washington has a solid punt return and quickly enter Browns territory. Haskins finds Gandy-Golden for a first down catch but it was juggle.
Kevin Stefanski challenges if it is a catch. The ruling is overturned and Stefanski wins his challenge.
Haskins finds J.D. McKissic wide open underneath and runs it to the four yard line. Browns then penalized for too many men on the field.
Antonio Gibson finishes off a strong drive and punches it in on a two yard run. The PAT by Hopkins in no good.
Browns 17 - Washington 13
Washington defense line continues to create pressure as Montez Sweat sacks Mayfield on first down.
Browns have another three and out. Punt again inside their own 20.
Washington back to quick tempo and get a first down after McKissic 7-yd run and quick screen to Isaiah Wright.
Wright then takes a reverse for a six yard gain. Gibson takes the HB draw for another first down.
Back with the hurry up, Gibson runs for an 11 yard gain.
Mitchell covers McLaurin in the endzone forcing the incompletion. 3rd & 7, B.J. Goodson tackles Logan Thomas short of the first down.
Haskins goes back to Logan Thomas on 4th &2 and Washington converts. 1st & Goal.
Haskins and Gibson botch the handoff and fumble the ball. Haskins recovers.
On 3rd & Goal, Haskins finds Dontrelle Inman for his second touchdown reception of the game.

Injury Update: Denzel Ward questionable to return with groin injury.
Montez Sweat continues to distrupt the backfield and tackles Hunt for a huge tackle for loss.
3rd & 12, Mayfield finds Odell Beckham for a 14 yard gain.
Andy Janovich catches a playaction pass in the left flat and rumbles his way to a first down.
Browns are a moving the chains as the quarter ends. Browns trailing by 3 points.
Fourth Quarter
Browns at midfield and Chubb runs for a six yard gain. He follows it up with a big run behind the pulling Wyatt Teller
Hunt takes a pitch to the right sideline and rushes 1 yard short of the first down. Then punches it up the middle for a first down on third and one.
2nd & Goal, Trips right and Baker Mayfield rolls right and finds Harrison Bryant for the TD.
Browns 24 - Washington 20
Washington gets pushed back on a offensive pass interference penalty. 3rd & 15, Haskins is picked off by B.J. Goodson.
Browns back on the field, and Mayfield finds Odell Beckham on a out right for a first down.
Nick Chubb rushes behind Wyatt Teller for a 20 yard touchdown.
Browns 31 - Washington 20
Logan Thomas makes a diving catch for a first down. Haskins back to the line quickly and finds Dontrelle Inman and the ball gets punched out. Washington recovers the fumble.
Myles Garrett get his second strip sack of the season. He quickly beat Morgan Moses and snatch the ball away for Haskins for the fumble recovery.
3rd &2, Mayfield pressured quickly on playaction and Kareem Hunt makes a circus one hand catch for a first down.
Three straight runs in Washington's redzone. Browns lineup for 4th & 4, Mayfield goes hard count and gets the encroachment penalty.
Wyatt Teller gets called for a holding penalty on first down. Browns continue to pound the ball with Kareem Hunt. Looking at third and a few.
Hunt is dragged down quickly after the two minute warning and Cody Parkey comes out for the field goal.
