Damarious Randall Returns to Practice, Olivier Vernon, Ricky Seals-Jones Not Practicing

When the Cleveland Browns took the practice field on Wednesday, they welcomed back Damarious Randall from a hamstring injury. Olivier Vernon was not practicing after the knee injury he suffered on Sunday, but no update has been provided to this point on what he actually did or the severity. Ricky Seals-Jones left the game Sunday at the half and did not return from what is believed to be a bone bruise. He was on the stationary bike during practice.

Randall missed a pair of games with a hamstring injury and with the injury situation for Eric Murray as well as the release of Jermaine Whitehead, the Browns need him to be able to go on Sunday. Murray suffered a knee injury last week in practice which he had surgery to repair and is considered week to week. Meanwhile, Whitehead's poor play combined with an outburst on social media including threats and racism, cost him his roster spot.

The only other free safeties on the roster are Juston Burris and Sheldrick Redwine, which were obviously considered options four and five last week, so a healthy Randall would be a big upgrade.

Seals-Jones took a hit to the knees on a reception on the last drive of the second quarter against the Denver Broncos which caused him to miss the rest of the game. Reportedly a bone bruise, it might not keep him out this week.

Vernon's situation is biggest as he was hurt at the end of the game against the Broncos and there hasn't been an update. He's played outstanding this season, the last three weeks in particular and if he's out this week or out for any length of time, the next options are Chad Thomas and Chris Smith. Both have played poorly this season and the dropoff would be enormous.

The Browns host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
