Chargers-Packers inactives: Davante Adams officially returns from turf toe

CARSON, Calif. — The Los Angeles Chargers' injured-plagued defense will have to play again with either of its starting defensive tackles during Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Justin Jones and Brandon Mebane, listed as doubtful, will both sit out as they nurse shoulder and knee injuries, respectively.

In addition to the issues in the trenches, the Chargers defense will also have to face off against Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams, who will return after missing the Packers' previous four games with a turf toe injury. Adams tested out the toe during pregame warm-ups and felt good enough about its condition to play. Though Green Bay could limit Adams' snaps given the severity of the injury, he provides yet another challenge for Los Angeles.

Back in the secondary, the Chargers will play without rookie safety Roderic Teamer. Teamer missed practice Thursday and Friday and seemed like a longshot to suit up after the team promoted defensive back Shalom Luani off the practice squad late in the week. Los Angeles will have just three healthy safeties available Sunday, as Derwin James and Adrian Phillips remain on injured reserve.
