Your Los Angeles Chargers will have their work cut out for them when it comes to shoring up their front line during the offseason.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report notes that the Bolts ranked 32nd (i.e. last) in the NFL in terms of yards per rush ceded with 5.4. LA came in at 28th when it comes to opponent rushing yards permitted.

The club took pains to improve its linebacker corps this summer, inking former Minnesota Vikings star Eric Kendricks to a new deal in free agency and selecting 6'1" Washington State University All-Pac-12 First Teamer Daiyan Henley with the 85th pick in this spring's draft.

Knox notes that the Chargers need to strengthen its defensive front line overall, and believes that the team will use its Organized Team Activities this month to essentially audition some new pieces for defensive end minutes.

Returning defensive end Morgan Fox (re-signed this summer) will compete against new additions Nicholas Williams (signed in free agency after a stint with the New York Giants) and rookies Scott Matlock (the 200th pick out of Boise State) and Jerrod Clark (signed as an undrafted free agent out of Coastal Carolina University).

As Knox observes, LA needs to ensure that star linebackers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa have the real estate they need to operate en route to hopefully stopping the opposing team's quarterback, and thus the club's other defenders need to create as much space as possible for that dynamic duo.
