The Los Angeles Chargers were among the few teams to bolster their roster to make themselves serious contenders for the Lombardy this upcoming season. By doing so, they nailed the NFL Draft by adding players who fit their mold and adding positions of need. One of their significant additions was their first-round pick selection from TCU WR Quentin Johnston.

Johnston is primed to make some big waves in his first year as a pro, but his fellow college and now pro teammate could be a sleeper in the Chargers draft class. Clutch Points author Tim Crean believes LA's fourth-round pick, WR Derius Davis, could be their sleeper pick from all their rookies.

TCU WR Derius Davis came to the Chargers in the fourth round, 104 picks later than his Horned Frog teammate. And the reason Davis is so intriguing is that he brings speed to the table that no other Chargers skill position player has.

As Davis works his way toward becoming an every-down player, the Chargers must find a way to get the ball in his hands at least four to five times a game in space to create explosive plays. And even if he turns just one of those plays every other game into a big one, Davis will quickly become the Chargers’ rookie sleeper of 2023.

The speedy wide receiver spent four years at TCU and established himself as one of the fastest players in college. Although he's known for his returns on special teams, he still managed to get 35 catches for 418 yards with an average of 11.9 yards per catch and five touchdowns in his senior year. The 22-year-old has elite quickness and can separate from his defender with hesitation moves and acceleration.

Due to his stature and play style, he's garnered a lot of comparison to Chargers great Darren Sproles. Both are undersized and have elite speed on the gridiron; if Davis can become just half of Sproles, he will get a ton of playing time for the Bolts.
