Bashaud Breeland Rejoins Chiefs, Active vs. Broncos Thursday Night

DENVER -- The Chiefs received a critical reinforcement before their Thursday night contest against the Broncos with cornerback Bashaud Breeland rejoining the club for the AFC West contest.

Breeland didn't travel with the club on Wednesday for personal reasons. The Chiefs listed him as questionable and were uncertain if he would be able to arrive in Denver before game time.

His return to the club is crucial with fellow cornerback Kendall Fuller out with a thumb injury sustained last week against the Houston Texans. Breeland has emerged as the club's top cornerback the season, frequently traveling the opposition's top receiver.

Breeland expects to start alongside Charvarius Ward at the outside positions. Fuller is the team's starting nickel back, and it remains unclear how the Chiefs plant to address his absence. Rookie cornerback Rashad Fenton filled in for Fuller during the team's Week 6 loss to the Texans. Veteran Morris Claiborne, who recently rejoined the team after a four-game suspension, has mixed into the rotation with Breeland and Ward on the outside the past two games.
