It feels like a long time since the Kansas City Chiefs have had a football game but the (relatively) long-wait is over. The Chiefs travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers for their first game at the newly built SoFi Stadium in Englewood, California. The contest also marks the first AFC West divisional matchup this season. Here on Arrowhead Report on SI.com, we'll keep you updated on everything happening in the game as the Chiefs try and go 2-0 for the fourth straight season.

FINAL: Chiefs 23, Chargers 20

2:00 OT: It looks like Butker will have a shot to win it.

3:56 OT: Kansas City goes for it on fourth down and their game-winning drive is still alive.

7:57 OT: Chiefs force a three and out and a punt. It's Mahomes Magic time.

OVERTIME: Chargers win the toss and elect to receive

END OF REGULATION: Butker hits a 30-yard attempt to send the game to overtime.

Chiefs 20, Chargers 20

0:10 4Q: The Chiefs have been bit by penalties on this drive but they are in FG range. I'd like to see them score the ball and just win the game though.

2:27 4Q: LA eats up a ton of clock and breaks the tie with a field goal from Bagley.

Charger 20, Chiefs 17

12:48 4Q: There's some life! Mahomes finds Hill on a 60-yard touchdown pass. They get the 2-pt conversion. This game is tied.

Chiefs 17, Chargers 17

END OF THIRD: The Chiefs will have a second down in the shadows of their own goalposts. Kansas City needs a score and a 2-point conversion to tie it up.

Chargers 17, Chiefs 9

0:29 3Q: Herbert makes a rookie mistake as the Chargers were driving. He throws a pick to L'Jarius Sneed. Maybe that'll give the Chiefs the momentum they need to reclaim the lead.

3:11 3Q: Mahomes takes a sack that nearly takes the Chiefs out of field goal range but Butker comes on and knocks in a 58-yard field goal to make the deficit a bit more manageable. Butker ties a franchise record.

Chargers 17, Chiefs 9

8:07 3Q: It could've been worse. Bagley nails a 41-yard field goal to extend the LA lead.

Chargers 17, Chiefs 6

12:57 3Q: A very lackluster drive to start the half as Townsend's punt sails into the endzone. Hopefully the defense can find some momentum because the offense sure can't.

15:00 3Q: We're back and Tony Romo thinks the Chiefs are in trouble. Kansas City will start the half on its 25-yard line.

HALFTIME: Let's check in on the Arrowhead Report crew.

HALFTIME: A poor first-half performance from the Chiefs leads to a deficit at the half. This is the first time Kansas City has trailed at half in 15 games. A lot to talk about from the first half.

Chargers 14, Chiefs 6

1:01 2Q: Kansas City can't seem to protect Mahomes for more than a second. They can't put points on the board before the half and they punt it away. Chargers will have the ball with under a minute left on their 6-yard line.

2:30 2Q: The Chargers respond to the Chiefs score with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Herbert to Jalen Guyton just before the half. Injuries are mounting for the Chiefs as the Chargers are running all over them.

Chargers 14, Chiefs 6

5:30 2Q: Los Angeles converts on a fourth down and all of Kansas City's linebackers are getting hurt. But hey, at least we'll see Willie Gay.

8:51 2Q: Kansas City finally gets on the board with a 10-yard dime from Mahomes to Kelce. Chiefs tie it up. The last 11 times the Chiefs have been in the red zone against the Chargers, they have scored a touchdown. A penalty on the PAT leads to a blocked attempt.

The Mayor has chimed in on the issue.

Chargers 7, Chiefs 6

10:50 2Q: Some good and some bad news.

Good news: Mahomes and company are making plays and moving the offense.

Bad news:

13:27 2Q: The defense forces a punt and Willie Gay makes a play on special teams getting a piece of the kick. Kansas City will take over on their 27-yard line. I'm going to need some points soon.

The Arrowhead Report crew seems pretty stoked on Willie.

15:00 2Q: The Chargers take over on their 34-yard line.

END OF FIRST: The Chargers defense is really getting after Mahomes and can't seem to get any offensive momentum. The Chiefs have only gained 45 yards on offense. A frustrating quarter for Kansas City.

Chargers 7, Chiefs 0

1:34 1Q: Herbert has looked good so far but a couple of incompletions lead to a turnover on downs. Kansas City will take over at their 34 -yard line to try and make something happen.

4:41 1Q: Two drives. Two punts. The Chiefs' offense doesn't look like themselves. Chargers start on their 37-yeard line.

6:24 1Q: The Chiefs' defense gets a stop and gets the ball back. Mahomes and company will take over on their 10-yard line

9:59 1Q: A rough first possession for the Chiefs that had a couple good runs from Clyde. Townsend's punt starts the Chargers drive at their own 15-yard line.

11:15 1Q: Well, at least Clyde still looks good.

11:23 1Q: The Chiefs defense did NOT look good on that first drive covering Austin Ekeler coming out of the backfield. It really makes you think about Willie Gay Jr.

11:23 1Q: Justin Herbert comes out and shocks the Chiefs with his first NFL touchdown with a 4-yard run on their first possession.

Chargers 7, Chiefs 0

12:38 1Q: The Chargers have picked up a couple of first downs with Herbert behind center. Reports are Taylor suffered a chest injury sometime before the game.

15:00 1Q: Well this is interesting, Justin Herbert starts the game for the Chargers.

15:00 1Q: We are underway at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers win the toss and elect to receive to start the game. We'll see Tyrod Taylor and the Chargers offense first.

Pregame: Vahe Gregorian reports that no Chiefs kneeled during the national anthem but Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Mecole Hardman, Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson linked arms during the anthem.

2:20 PM: Get ready for Taco Charlton and Bo Pete Keyes' debuts with some pregame reading

2:03 PM: The Chiefs have announced their inactive players for today's contest. Both Taco Charlton and BoPete Keyes are active. It's Taco Time!

2 PM: We are nearly an hour away from kickoff and injuries around the league continue to mount.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, 16 players have left today's games and will not return. Oddly enough, there haven't been many offensive line injuries.

We should have Chiefs and Chargers inactive player reports soon. Meanwhile, Joshua Brisco and I are getting a little uneasy.

12:45 PM: We're only 45 minutes into Week 2 and we've already seen some pretty big injuries around the league. It's making me a bit nervous for the Chiefs' game frankly.

10:26 AM: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports head coach Andy Reid will wear the same face shield as he did last week but use a defogging agent that is commonly used in the NHL.

Pregame: Lots of content has been produced in preparation for today's game. There's no excuse to go into the game not knowing what to expect. We've got you covered from score predictions and analysis to injury reports and what the players and coaches are saying about the matchup.
