Injury Update: Cowboys defensive starters Quinn and Vander Esch OUT for Rest of Eagles Game
ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys are winning the game ... but the Dallas Cowboys defense is losing starters.
First linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was been ruled out from returning to Sunday night’s game against the Eagles here at AT&T Stadium. As I write this, Dallas leads 27-10 with five minutes left in the third quarter - and ESPN reports that Vander Esch is on the sideline in street clothes, the result of a neck injury.
Meanwhile, sack leader Robert Quinn has also exited the game and like Vander Esch has been ruled out for the night. After tonight, Quinn has six sacks on this young season.
The Cowboys are attempting to take charge of the NFC East by vaulting to 4-3 here and ending a three-game slide. They will do so with DeMarcus Lawrence needing help from a partner or two who will have to replace Quinn ... and they will do so with Vander Esch being largely replaced by capable and versatile linebacker Joe Thomas.
