In the latest episode of the “Best Coast Boys” podcast, hosts Landon McCool and the Dallas Morning News’ John Owning give a midseason review of the Cowboys roster

The “Best Coast Boys” podcast is a Cowboys-centric podcast that will delve into many other topics. Whether it is the NFL, Cowboys, movies, music, comics, food or Mixed Martial Arts, nothing is off limits on the “Best Coast Boys” podcast.

After the pleasantries, the guys catch up on all the latest injuries news and notes surrounding the Cowboys roster. (Oh, and no Matthew Stafford, as you can read here.) After that, Landon and John dive into midseason review, starting with their overarching thoughts on the Cowboys as a whole.

After that, the guys take a look at the defense specifically, focusing on the issues plaguing that side of the ball. Landon discusses the issues with the DT play while John talks about the disappointing performances from the start LBs. The guys take time to praise DeMarcus Lawrence while also providing their thoughts on the secondary. Landon discusses whether coaching is an issue and John makes an effort to praise Michael Bennett for his play since joining the team.

On offense, the guys discuss how good this unit actually is and how they matchup with the best defenses in football. Landon praises Dak Prescott’s improvement while also making mention of Amari Cooper’s outstanding season. John discusses La’el Collins plays and breaks down why Zack Martin may be the most consistent O-lineman in all of football. The guys also talk about Jason Witten’s usage and why Blake Jarwin wasn’t broken into the starting lineup.

The “Best Coast Boys” podcast will return next week to review the Cowboys’s performance against the Detroit Lions. Join us!
