FRISCO - As football fans prepare for Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 12, the Dallas Cowboys and 29 other teams are preparing for the offseason.

For Dallas, it will be an offseason to evaluate players, even as coach Mike McCarthy's own review of his coaching staff continues after the split with former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and others.

In the latest NFL mock draft from The 33rd Team, Dallas maintains its No. 27 overall pick and for the second consecutive season selects an offensive lineman.

27. Dallas Cowboys: Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern

Skoronski has position flexibility and will make the Cowboys tougher and stronger up front to help in both the run and pass game. This would mark the second consecutive season Dallas selected an offensive lineman in the first round of the NFL Draft.

With age and injuries creeping up on the Cowboys' offensive line, this might not be the worst move.

The 6-4, 315-pounder from Northwestern may need to move inside to guard in the NFL due to a lack of athleticism according to some draft experts, but he is reportedly "football strong" and can move defenders off the ball efficiently.

The Cowboys' current free-agent situation could leave holes all up and down the roster, and the Joneses try and prioritize offense over defense in the early rounds.

And now that the Cowboys have a clearer idea of how that offseason might work financially after the NFL told teams the salary cap will increase by more than $16 million for 2023, it's time to look at April's NFL Draft.
