FIRST LOOK Inside The Star: Michael Bennett Wears No. 79 in First Cowboys Practice
FRISCO - It's a cold, rainy and windy day here in the backyard at The Star in Frisco, but there was a reason for all involved to brave the weather: The debut in a Dallas Cowboys uniform of new defensive end Michael Bennett.
Bennett, about to turn 34, is a three-time Pro Bowler with a history of speaking his mind. But in the last few days, we and others in the media have collected opinions from those in charge, and from those who are about to suit up next to Bennett (as he suits up in jersey No. 79) and the endorsements are positive.
That includes me asking coach Jason Garrett today about his conversation with Patriots coach Bill Belichick about the player his New England Patriots were about to trade. It also includes positive words from owner Jerry Jones and from defensive captains DeMarcus Lawrence and Jaylon Smith.
