Are Dallas Cowboys Still Sick?

Are Dallas Cowboys Still Sick? New Status for Cooks & Gilmore at Buffalo Bills: NFL Tracker
  • Author:
  • Publish date:

DEC 17 WHO'S SICK? We never thought this was much of a doubt, but just in case you were wondering: The first-team Cowboys players who were dealing with illnesses this week - including receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore, both of whom missed late-week practices and were designated as "questionable'' for today in Buffalo ...

Are planning on playing for the 10-3 Cowboys as they hope to manage their way through the wet and the windy to a win over the Bills. to push their winning streak to six games.

Safety Malik Hooker is the only other starter who enters as a question mark, as he carried the "questionable'' designation due to an ankle injury.

DEC 15 BANGED-UP 'BOYS The Dallas Cowboys have certainly seen better days health-wise, as their final injury report for Sunday's road matchup against the Buffalo Bills is nearly a mile long.

Only one player has been officially ruled out, that being defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins with a high ankle sprain. However, plenty of others are officially listed as questionable, including receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore, both of whom missed Friday's practice due to illness.

Meanwhile, the Bills are dealing with some major injury concerns of their own. Defensive end A.J. Epenesa and safety Micah Hyde have both been ruled out, while cornerback Kaiir Elam and receiver Justin Shorter are officially questionable.

Friday's full injury report for both teams is above.

DEC 13 'HARD-PRESSED' Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on Wednesday reiterated that defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins (high ankle sprain), who did not practice today, is unlikely to be able to play at Buffalo on Sunday.

“He’ll be hard-pressed to go this week,'' McCarthy said.

As we've reported, that means more snaps for first-round rookie Mazi Smith and a likely practice-squad call-up of 31-year-old Carl Davis.

Meanwhile ... while Hankins sat out due to the injury, others here inside The Star took a day of rest of sorts.

The Cowboys and Bills practice and injury report for Wednesday is above.

DEC 12 CONNOR OUT Miami Dolphins starting center Connor Williams, the former Dallas first-team left guard, suffered a torn ACL in the team's Monday night loss to the Titans and is out for the season.

Williams, who has started 26 games at center for the Dolphins since joining the team as a free agent in 2022, has been a top performers for a Miami team that figures as a Super Bowl contender ... and one that will play host to the Cowboys in two weeks.

The Cowboys are 10-3 and in first place in the NFC East and play at Buffalo this week. The Dolphins are 9-4 and in first place in the AFC East and play the Jets.

DEC 10 SICK SACK! Micah Parsons isn't feeling well in this "Sunday Night Football'' NFC East showdown here at AT&T Stadium. But despite his flu-like issue, it's the visiting Eagles who feel even wors at halftime as Dallas is up 24-6 ...

With QB Jalen Hurts and the Eagles barely able to do anything on offense except for a successful fake punt.

In the final moments of the first half, Micah and the Cowboys sacked Hurts to force Philly to settle for a field goal ... and at the half, Hurts' numbers are mediocre as he's 7 of 13 for 92 yards and a fumble.

Meanwhile, Dak Prescott - like Hurts coming in an MVP candidate - is 14 of 23 for 152 yards and two TDs.

DEC 8 ALARCON TRYOUT Isaac Alarcon is a symbol in many ways, the native of Mexico playing a role with the Dallas Cowboys that is very much about making the NFL an international sport.

But Isaac Alarcon is also a football player - the Indianapolis Colts, in need of that, on Friday had him in Indy for a workout.

alarcon

Indianapolis is apparently thin on the offensive line right now, and Alarcon - who was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent back in 2020, hanging on to a spot via the practice squad - has spent much of his time developing his craft as an O-lineman.

This year, though - in part reflective of his true role in Dallas as a scout-team helper - the 6-7, 320-pounder got switched over to play defensive line as well.

Isaac Alarcon, 25, making the jump from the International Player Pathway Program to making a visit? And maybe part of another team's roster move? That would be impressive ... and would take him beyond just symbolism.

Rookie Blake Freeland will presumably start in Smith’s absence again—as he has 6 starts already this season, combined at both offensive tackle spots. Freeland hasn’t been a rookie standout, but he’s hung in there, battled, and gained meaningful playing experience.

The problem is, the Colts have next to no offensive tackle behind him. There are no other offensive tackles listed on the Colts roster beyond Bernhard Raimann, Smith, and Freeland, or even the practice squad for that matter.

DEC 6 COWBOYS MOVES The Cowboys are activating Peyton Hendershot to the active roster from IR after he’s been sidelined for most of the year with an ankle injury.

The Cowboys should have the tight end available for Sunday night against the visiting Eagles. In a corresponding move, tight end Sean McKeon is now on injured reserve. Dallas also opened the 21-day practice window on Matt Waletzko, the 6-8 offensive tackle who could in coming weeks serve as a depth piece. Waletzko, a fifth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2022, has battled a shoulder injury for much of his time with the Cowboys.

DEC 4 MIZZOU, BUCKEYES READY FOR ARLINGTON SHOOTOUT Amidst the controversy of the College Football Playoff's final four-team bracket, there's no doubt that AT&T Stadium's Cotton Bowl Classic presents an intriguing matchup amidst the consolation portions of the New Year's Six slate.

The prestigious six-game slate will kick off in Arlington on Dec. 29 as the Ohio State Buckeyes, ranked seventh in the final CFP poll, will face off against No. 9 Missouri in prime time.

The Big Ten's Buckeyes (11-1, 8-1) were denied a playoff bid by falling to top-ranked Michigan on Nov. 29. This will be Ohio State's third appearance in the Cotton Bowl Classic, previously prevailing in 1987 and 2017. Meanwhile, the SEC's Missouri Tigers (10-2, 6-2) are fresh off their first 10-win season since 2014, one season after they topped Oklahoma State in the last of three prior Cotton Bowl showings.

This year's edition of the Cotton Bowl Classic will be the 88th staging and the 14th played at AT&T Stadium. Last season's game was won by Group of Five champion Tulane, which earned a shocking 46-45 upset over the University of Southern California.

In other North Texas bowl affairs, local Southern Methodist will play in the Fenway Bowl on Dec. 28 against Boston College at Fenway Park, the home of MLB's Boston Red Sox, after prevailing in the American Athletic Conference title game over the weekend. SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium will also host an all-Texas First Responder Bowl between Rice and Texas State on Dec. 26.

NOV 30 DARON AGAIN Resilient would be the word for DaRon Bland tonight here at AT&T Stadium on "Thursday Night Football'' as the NFC Player of the Month has been in the spotlight - and not in a good way - as the visiting Seahawks are giving the Cowboys fits.

But ... Bland is nothing if not resilient, and despite his struggles, he popped up big for Dallas late in the third quarter as he registered yet another interception, his NFL-leading eighth ....

The Cowboys trail 28-27 with one minute left in the third quarter.

NOV 30 DEION WINS SI'S SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD Former Dallas Cowboys defender/returner Deion Sanders' first season as the head coach of the University of Colorado Boulder's football team has been commemorated with Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year Award.

While Colorado finished the 2023 season with a 4-8 record, it was a three-game improvement from the prior year's tally of one and Sanders' work and impact on major college football has drawn vocal responses.

"Deion Sanders dominated the sports conversation in 2023 as a transformative figure not just in Colorado, but for the entire realm of college sports," SI editor-in-chief Stephen Cannella said in a statement. "On and off the field, he represents a new model for the modern college coach."

Sanders will be featured on the Dec. 15 print edition of SI, flanked by numerous notable members of the CU athletic community at the Buffaloes' home stadium of Folsom Field.

NOV 28 RODGERS PRAISES PRESCOTT New York Jets quarterback and long-standing Dallas Cowboys adversary Aaron Rodgers used his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" to laud Dak Prescott, claiming that he has used his time off to further appreciate the DFW passer's game.

Rodgers, who is working off a torn Achilles sustained in the debut drive of his New York debut, says that Prescott is the perfect counter to fellow passing legend Tom Brady's claims that the game has become more mediocre since his heyday.

“He’s become one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch,” Rodgers said. "I’ve watched more football this year than any other year because in normal years you’re getting ready for games. I watch a lot more games than usual. Tom had some comments about some of the mediocrity. And I just want to say Dak is not who he’s talking about.”

Prescott is in the midst of his eighth season as the Cowboys' franchise quarterback, and it's perhaps his best one yet: over the past six weeks, Prescott has posted a 122.6 passer rating, building it with 1,874 yards and 18 touchdown passes compared to only two interceptions. Dallas is 5-1 in that span and their average margin of victory is over 23 points.

Rodgers is particularly impressed with the way that Prescott has handled himself at the line of scrimmage, with such antics gaining a new brand of notoriety thanks to his vocal pre-snap cadence of "Here we go!"

“I just love that he’s really playing the position," Rodgers said. "I’m watching him use his cadence beautifully and get into this rhythmic “Here we go”, using as a dummy sometimes doing it twice into like, other cadences. The last four or five weeks I’ve gotten to see more of their games.

"And I just want to say like he’s playing a position in a really impressive way.”

NOV 26 SEAHAWKS SIGN JOSEPH The Seattle Seahawks are looking for depth in the secondary and have added former Cowboys second-round pick from Kentucky, Kelvin Joseph.

The 24-year-old was selected at No. 44 overall by Dallas in the 2021 NFL Draft but never excelled in defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's system. Joseph was traded to Miami in August in exchange for Noah Igbinoghene, but the Dolphins released Joseph on Nov. 14.

The Cowboys host the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 13.

NOV 25 PATRIOTS CUT COWBOYS EX QB Coach Bill Belichick’s goofy game of Musical Chairs continues this weekend in New England as he’s refusing to reveal which of his QBs will start on Sunday against the New York Giants.

But we can now eliminate as a candidate former Dak Prescott backup Will Grier, as the Pats just cut Grier.

Grier, 28, joined the Pats in September after he'd bounced around a bit, all following a fine preseason he'd had in Dallas ... before the Cowboys traded for Trey Lance to be the No. 3 QB, squeezing out Grier.

In Dallas, Dak's top backup is now Cooper Rush. And in New England? This leaves Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe as the only quarterbacks left on the Pats roster. ... though their "secret'' silliness may not end there.

NOV 23 THE ARCHER SCORES Brandin Cooks had his monster game in Week 10 against the Giants, pitched in in Week 11 against the Panthers, and today here at AT&T Stadium just did some damage to the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving Day with a second-quarter TD catch from QB Dak Prescott.

Cooks exploded in Week 10 for 173 yards and a touchdown, catching nine passes on 10 targets. Last week, it was three catches on four targets for 42 yards. Sometimes it's about volume, sometimes it's about timing ...

And sometimes it's about the opponent, as coming in Washington’s pass defense has surrendered 15 receiving touchdowns to opposing wideouts - the most in the NFL.

Dallas now has a 14-3 lead in the Turkey Day game.

NOV 19 WILLIAMS: 'SMART PLAY LED TO TOUCHDOWN YIELDING PENALTY Second-year Dallas Cowboys defender Sam Williams had made a larger impact on special teams this season, but his pass rushing continued to trend in the right direction, as he earned a sack for the third straight game in a 33-10 victory over Carolina.

Williams, however, kept his focus on a special teams blunder that kept Carolina's lone touchdown drive alive: the second-round pick was charged with a running into the kicker penalty while Dallas was about to get the ball back on a punt with a 17-3 lead. The Panthers took advantage of the shortened fourth down and later turned the rebirthed drive into their lone score of the day.

“It was a smart play,” Williams said, crediting blocker Ian Thomas for more or less throwing him into punter Johnny Hekker. “My momentum was already going (toward the punter). I just got to do my part of rolling to the other side or avoiding the kicker. I felt like it was a smart play by the blocker (for pushing).”

Dallas was able to recover from Williams' gaffe well enough, but the defender expressed a desire to atone for his mistake.

“I left some plays out there,” Williams said of his performance. “I just got to keep going, get back in the lab, tweak some things, and just keep taking my opportunities that I have.”

NOV 18 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! As we have noted before, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is dating Sarah Jane Ramos. … and on Friday night, a happy occasion as Ms. Ramos posted photos on Instagram for her 30th birthday.

"Entering a new decade with so much gratitude," she wrote. "Blessed and thankful for my family and friends that celebrated with me in my new home. I truly have everything I could wish for and have a feeling this next chapter will be the best one."

IMG_1290

Prescott, the star QB of the 6-3 Cowboys who is presently on a month-long MVP-level roll, was of course part of the celebration which was staged at the members-only Cowboys Club at The Star … and was also a most prominent commenter on IG.

"So much to Love in this post," Prescott replied. "Welcome to 30 club my love.”

NOV 16 LAMB PROVIDES THANKSGIVING SURPRISE Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb is making big plays for Thanksgiving weeks before Turkey Day.

The reigning NFC Player of the Week came through in the clutch this week, partnering with metroplex supermarket chain Tom Thumb and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas to surprise two families with a Thanksgiving shopping spree.

"It's always a great pleasure to see other families smiling and for me to play a part in that," Lamb told KXAS-TV. "As far as Thanksgiving, it's my favorite holiday personally. You have time to sit, enjoy food with your family, quality time," Lamb said. "Grandma's cooking. Mom's cooking. No one is allowed in the kitchen for 24 hours maybe. It's a pleasure, though. I love it. The food's great. The camaraderie's great. It brought our family closer."

Lamb and the Cowboys will face the Washington Commanders in the middle portion of the NFL's annual three-course Thanksgiving proceedings.

NOV 14 DIGGS' LATEST DIG TARGETS JOSH ALLEN? Cowboys defender Trevon Diggs' war of social media words against the Buffalo Bills continued on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after Western New York dropped a 24-22 decision to the Denver Broncos.

In an apparent effort to land his brother Stefon, the Bills' top receiver, to the Cowboys cause, Trevon appeared to take an indirect dig (pun intended) at Buffalo franchise quarterback Josh Allen, who lost three turnovers in Monday's defeat.

"Let’s not forget, he didn’t start going off till bro got there," Trevon Diggs noted in a post on X.

While Trevon doesn't refer to his brother or Allen by name it's easy to see why he'd be referring to the pair: prior to Stefon's arrival in 2020, Allen posted a 15-12 record as a starter and a 78.2 passer rating over his first two years. In the ensuing four, which have seen Buffalo post a 42-17 record with Stefon as the undisputed top aerial option, Allen's passer rating has inflated to 98.1.

On Monday, Stefon caught just three passes as brother Trevon, injured and out for the year for 6-3 Dallas, watched as Buffalo fell to 5-5.

NOV 13 BARR TO PHILLY? The former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr has been "on the couch'' for a time, but he is making a free agent visit to the Eagles on Monday.

Barr, 31, is a four-time Pro Bowler who earlier in his career was a Vikings star after having been the No. 9 overall pick out of UCLA in 2014.

NOV 12 DALLAS UP EARLY Dallas is midway through the second quarter in NFL Week 10 on Sunday here at AT&T Stadium and despite a failed red-zone plunge to open the game and a Dak Prescott interception in the second quarter, the Cowboys lead the Giants 14-0.

The Dak interception is of course one he'll want back ... But he did follow it up with a TD toss to Jake Ferguson for the big lead, combining with CeeDee Lamb's earlier TD run on a reverse.

NOV 12 'BEHIND ENEMY LINES' As the New York Giants roll into AT&T Stadium today to take on the Dallas Cowboys, our colleagues at GiantsCountry at SI are being necessarily blunt about the challenge, as Dallas has won 12 of the last 13 meetings, including a Week 1 outing at MetLife Stadium won by the Cowboys by a 40-0 score.

How is it phrased in this "Behind Enemy Lines'' piece?

"It's time to face the bully again.''

The site suggests that the Cowboys that night "set the tone for an extremely disappointing season for the Giants'' ... and indeed, New York comes in at 2-7 against a Dallas team favored by 17.

CowboysSI.com is at AT&T Stadium today and will bring you all the action. Bookmark us!

NOV 10 MCCARTHY: REMEMBER ARIZONA! There are few certainties in life beyond death, taxes, and, for the most part, the Dallas Cowboys disposing of the New York Giants in this new decade. Dallas has had a near-monopoly on the annual NFC East showdown, winning six of the seven meetings in the 2020s and 12 of the last 13 overall.

With the Giants coming into AT&T Stadium on Sunday down two quarterbacks and posting a 2-7 record, many expect the Cowboys to roll to a multi-possession victory. Head coach Mike McCarthy, however, warned observers not to put an addition in the win column just yet, reminding them of the disastrous Week 3 visit to the lowly Arizona Cardinals.

"I think Arizona is an excellent reminder, but I think really when I look at this particular game, you remember last year, we were a significant favorite against Houston, we all know how that game came down to the end,” McCarthy said during a weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan's "Shan and RJ" show. “I think that’s just another weekly reminder that represents how hard the NFL is."

"We need to just really, really focus on ourselves. We want to improve from our last contest in Philadelphia and make sure we continue to grow. But at the end of the day, we need to go get this sixth win."

To date, Dallas' 28-16 loss in Glendale stands as the Cardinals' only win of the 2023-24 season. The Cowboys let up 400 yards and committed 13 penalties in defeat. In the game McCarthy refers to from last season, the Cowboys entered a December visit from the Houston Texans as 17-point favorites but needed a game-winning drive in the final minute to escape with a 27-23 victory.

NOV 8 DEVITO NAMED STARTER With the New York Giants losing Daniel Jones to a season-ending knee injury in their Week 9 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, they will rely on Tommy DeVito to lead the team under center on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys, as revealed on Wednesday by coach Brian Daboll.

DeVito, an undrafted rookie out of Illinois, beat out veteran backup Matt Barkley for the job after the Giants called him up from the practice squad.

While Sunday will be his first start, DeVito did see action versus the Raiders in place of the injured Jones and completed 15 of his 20 passes for 175 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in a 30-6 loss.

Barkley will serve as the No. 2 QB for a Giants team that is 16.5-point underdogs on Sunday in NFL Week 10.

NOV 6 'HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES' The Dallas Cowboys may have just been "inches away" from picking up a win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, but as the old adage says: "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades."

Since football is neither, the Cowboys saw a slight drop in their power ranking standing released by USA Today Sports on Monday, falling two spots from No. 5 to No. 7. The Eagles, by comparison, held firm at the No. 1 spot. You can view the entire power rankings list here, including a rise from the San Francisco 49ers.

NOV 6 DANIEL OUT, DALLAS ODDS The Cowboys were going to be gigantic favorites over the Giants in NFL Week 10 at AT&T Stadium, but New York’s situation just got worse .. and so did the Giants’ odds.

QB Daniel Jones has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a severe knee injury, putting the Giants in limbo at the position. Before the official announcement, Dallas was favored by 16.

Tyrod Taylor on IR with a rib injury, so the Giants' only healthy QBs are undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito and just-signed veteran Matt Barkley.

NOV 5 TURPIN TOUCHDOWN - The Dallas Cowboys have taken the lead in Philadelphia early in the second quarter as Dak Prescott found Pro Bowl returner KaVontae Turpin for a five-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7.

The Turpin score capped off a nine-play drive from Dallas, where Prescott completed all four of his passes, which included a 40-yard completion to Jake Ferguson and a 20-yarder to CeeDee Lamb.

NOV. 2 NFC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE MONTH - Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey has earned the recognition as the NFC's special teams player of the month for October after finishing a perfect 8-of-8 on field goals and 11-of-11 on extra points.

Aubrey, a rookie who signed with the Cowboys this past offseason after two seasons playing in the USFL, has made all of his 18 field goals this season and made 94.4 percent of his extra points.

Thanks to his reliability so far for the Cowboys this season, Aubrey has even earned the nickname "Butter" from quarterback Dak Prescott.

NOV 1 JULIO JONES TO STICK AROUND IN PHILLY Ahead of Sunday's highly-anticipated showdown with the Cowboys (3:25 p.m. CT, Fox), the Philadelphia Eagles have officially added receiver Julio Jones to their active roster. Jones, the NFL's active leader in receiving yards, has been elevated from the practice squad in each of the last two weeks, earning 11 yards on two receptions, one of which went for a touchdown in last week's win over Washington.

Jones' promotion was one of several roster moves the Eagles made leading into the divisional duel: the team also opened the 21-day practice window for second-year blocker Cam Jurgens and also added tight end E.J. Jenkins to their practice squad in Jones' place.

Jones is a helper behind standouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and on Wednesday, Dallas coach Mike McCarthy was asked about Brown in particular.

"If I was going to highlight one thing about him,'' McCarthy said, "(it's) the contested catches jump off the chart.''

OCT 31 NFC EAST TRADE The Commanders and the Bears have agreed to a swap that will reportedly send defensive lineman Montez Sweat to Chicago for a 2024 second-round pick.

Sweat is in the final year of his contract, and the Commanders - maybe operating as sellers here in the Cowboys’ NFC East division - get something for Sweat before they lose him in free agency.

OCT 29 COWBOYS WIN OVER RAMS RAMS STANDS AS SCORIGAMI The Dallas Cowboys' one-sided victory over the Los Angeles Rams proved historic in more ways than one: in addition to Brandon Aubrey's monumental triple, his NFL record-tying 18th straight conversion to start the season, the final margin was the first final score of 43-20 in FNL history according to the numbers experts at Scorigami.

Formed by Jon Bois, Scorigami is billed as "the art of building final scores that have never happened before in NFL history." Sunday's Dallas victory was the 1,079th unique scoreboard in the NFL's 104 years.

OCT 27 SEAHAWKS WEAR THROWBACK JERSEYS VS. COWBOYS  The Seattle Seahawks announced on Thursday that their Week 8 matchup with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday won't be the last time they wear their throwback uniforms.

According to the Seahawks' official Twitter account, they also plan on bringing out their 1990s throwbacks versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.

Unluckily for Cowboy fans who are hoping to see Dallas also don throwbacks on the Thursday night game versus Seattle, the uniform schedule has them set to wear their traditional home white jerseys, per the Dallas Morning News

However, the week before facing the Seahawks, the Cowboys are set to break out their navy throwback jerseys in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Commanders.

OCT 26 SHERMAN SHANKS JONES' TRADE DEADLINE APPROACH Richard Sherman is calling on the Dallas Cowboys to not only pick up the phone but to dial as well.

Responding to owner Jerry Jones' relatively passive plans for the upcoming trade deadline, the All-Pro cornerback-turned-Fox Sports analyst ripped the Cowboys owner's lax approach, where he invited teams to barter rather than reaching out directly.

"It's the same thing he's always done and he's going to get the same results he's always gotten," Sherman said on Fox Sports' "Undisputed" this week. "You must think your roster is too good to get better ... championship teams don't ever feel like they're too good to get better. They're always looking for other avenues to get better and it just seems stagnant. It seems lazy. "

Dallas has been relatively quiet on the trade front from an in-season perspective, their only major acquisition from the past three deadlines has been defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins. Sherman listed names like Danielle Hunter, Davante Adams, and DeAndre Hopkins as possible candidates for a move, but warned Jones that he'll have to initiate those conversations.

The Super Bowl champion unfavorably compared Jones' passive approach to that of Howie Roseman's, whose Philadelphia Eagles have already landed former Tennessee Titans defender Kevin Byard.

"You see the Eagles are all over the division, they're out there exploring, you knew that Howie Rosman was looking for a safety for weeks, that wasn't a surprise...he's been saying it for weeks," Sherman said. "I just don't understand this from Jerry and this is maybe why Jerry shouldn't be the GM. It's almost like he is being too prideful.

OCT 25 SURTAIN RUMOR Patrick Surtain to the Dallas Cowboys? No, we did not report that. The Cowboys' high level of affection for the Denver Broncos stellar young cornerback? Yes, we reported that.

The idea that Dallas should make a just-in-case call to the Broncos as the NFL trade deadline approaches on Oct. 31? Yes, we reported that, too. And maybe now you know more about why.

Surtain and the Cowboys

Surtain and the Cowboys

SI's Albert Breer is now reporting that Denver will "listen'' on offers to every one of the Broncos players, including the gifted Surtain. As we noted earlier this week, Dallas might find the price to be ridiculous, at which time both parties can hang up the phone.

But you cannot win the lottery if you don't buy a scratch-off ticket. And so ... via Breer: "Then, of course, there’s Patrick Surtain II. The Broncos have already gotten calls on him, of course. It’s pretty unlikely that Denver would trade (arguably) the best corner in the league, who has a year and a half left on his rookie deal, plus a team option for 2025, and doesn’t turn 24 until April.

All of that info is stuff we've detailed in this space before. (Read above.) What's new is that Denver is no longer hiding its willingness to listen. Oh, and what's also new is that CowboysSI.com is reporting that Dallas is already "in conversation'' about trading for defensive help. So ... stay tuned.

OCT 23 EAGLES MAKE IN-SEASON TRADE... AGAIN The Philadelphia Eagles have been ruthless in recent years when it comes to midseason acquisitions. That streak continued on Monday as they traded for Tennesssee Titans safety Kevin Byard, per a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

In exchange for the seven-year veteran, the Eagles sent safety Terrell Edmunds along with their 2024 fifth and sixth-round picks. The addition of Byard is expected to strengthen a Philadelphia secondary that injuries have ravaged as of late.

Byard, 30, has started in six games this season for the Titans, totaling 47 tackles and one fumble. Byard could make his Eagles debut as soon as Sunday when they travel to face the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

OCT 23 MAHER CALLED OUT BY MCVAY WITH RETURN TO DALLAS COMING It's deja new shade of blue all over again.

Dallas Cowboys fans and management can sympathize with what their Los Angeles Rams-based peers are going through, as the latter groups are among the latest to ride the Brett Maher kicking rollercoaster.

Maher, who went viral for all the wrong reasons last Dallas postseason, once again lingers in an unwanted spotlight after missing three kicks (two field goals and an extra point) in the Rams' 24-17 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Maher currently leads the league with 17 successful field goals but those have come on 23 attempts, placing his 73.9 percent success rate fourth-to-last among kickers with at least 10 tries. In contrast, Dallas (4-2) has enjoyed the antics of Maher's replacement as two-time USFL champion Brandon Aubrey has converted each of his first 16 triple atempts to dae.

Rams head coach Sean McVay has put Maher on notice as he prepares to come home to AT&T Stadium on Sunday (12 p.m. CT, Fox).

“We’ll look at it and we’ll see. He’s got to be better," McVay said of the Pittsburgh debacle, per Cameron DaSilva of RamsWire. "That’s seven points that we missed out on that were key and critical for the momentum of the game and the type of game that it was. Those were tough ones today.”

The Rams (3-4) have been a relatively pleasant surprise after last year's Super Bowl defense went horribly wrong, but Maher's misfires could wind up costing them ground in the NFC Wild Card race: each of their four losses thus far has come by 10 points or less and they currently sit a half-game behind Tampa Bay for the final spot in the early chase for the seventh and final seed.

OCT 20 ADAMS WANTS ... DALLAS TRADE? Davante Adams is still frustrated with the Raiders, even after a win that moves Las Vegas to 3-3.

“I’m a human being and I have extremely high standards for myself in this offense,” Adams said. “I’m sure people are thinking: ‘They won the game, why is there an issue?’ I mean, you see why it’s an issue. Y’all should know who I am, know what I’m about at this point … when you’re a player like me, mentally, my benchmark is not wins and losses — it’s greatness.''

These remarks have naturally led to trade speculation ... and in one case, some "trade comedy.'' Cowboys watcher Tom Downey is the perpetrator of the latter as he tweeted, "Davante Adams wants to be a Cowboy. He thinks he and CeeDee Lamb would be the best WR duo in the NFL, knows Mike McCarthy would actually feature him and thinks Dak is a massive upgrade over the QBs he's had in Vegas."

Davante Adams and the Cowboys

Davante Adams and the Cowboys

Downey is trying to offer satire here; he's well-aware of the impracticality of Adams - who signed a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders after being acquired from the Packers in a 2022 trade - landing in Dallas ... sexy as the idea might be.

Some on social media has taken the tweet seriously, though; so far, it's been viewed by 623,000 people. So it's got traction - but it's a joke with traction, not a story, not even a rumor.

OCT 17 MEET CHARGERS LADY During Monday night's Cowboys' 20-17 win over the Chargers, a lady wearing a Justin Herbert jersey went viral as ESPN's cameras captured her ... over and over and over again ... going nuts with the emotions of the game.

Is she for real? On Tuesday, this viral fan has been identified as Merrianne Do, as according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, she's a true diehard Chargers fan.

Chargers Lady

Chargers Lady

"Sorry, conspiracy theorists: The Chargers fan who went viral Monday night and her husband are season ticket holders who rent cabana suites every season for multiple games, I’m told," Pelissero wrote on X. "They’re true diehard fans — not actors — and wanted to get the word out."

Merrianne Do eventually appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show" to explain her devotion.

"I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'm intense... I've been a football fan for as long as I can remember and I'm passionate about it," Do told McAfee, adding that she is not a "plant,'' as rumored, meant to stir up attention for the Chargers.

OCT 16 BAD START The Dallas Cowboys went three-and-out, gave up a long punt return and had no defense for a Keenan Allen TD catch as they fell down to the Chargers 7-0 quickly on “Monday Night Football.”

Dallas got into a pregame fight at SoFi … but showed little fight in the first few minutes here.

OCT 15 NINERS UPSET!

The Cowboys surely watched the lowly Cleveland Browns upset the previously unbeaten San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in NFL Week 6 by a stunning 19-17 score and wondered three things …

1- How, with somebody named PJ Walker at QB and including the 49ers missing a game-winning field goal to close, did the Browns do that?

2- If the Browns could do it, why, just a week ago, could we not - by an embarrassing 42-10 score, no less?

3- Does this mean maybe at 3-2 and heading to LA to see the Chargers on Monday night that all is not lost when it comes to being competitive in the NFC? That everybody - even the “unbeatable” Niners - are vulnerable?

Film study will answer their first two questions. The standings answer the third.

OCT 13 KITTLE FINE The NFL has fined San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle $13,659 for “use of abusive language” on the T-shirt he wore under his uniform against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The profane undershirt has gone viral since after the 42-10 Dallas loss in which Kittle caught three TD passes.

OCT 12 KYLE SHANAHAN WEIGHS IN ON KITTLEGATE San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is the latest to comment on his tight end's controversial wardrobe malfunction. The Bay Area's Georgie Kittle scored three touchdowns in a 42-10 shellacking of the Cowboys, one that saw him out score Dallas on his own with three touchdowns. Kittle did so while wearing an undershirt that read "(Bleep) Dallas," adding another intriguing, salty chapter in the Cowboys-49ers rivalry

Unlike the many on-field commentators whose responses have varied from fury to agreement, Shanahan expressed relative indifference.

“Not much,” Shanahan said, per NBC Sports. “(That's) just Kittle, WWE stuff, entertainment. Not really much, just smiled at it.”

Each side's ensuing schedules should wash out this literally dirty laundry from the news cycle. But players in each locker room have made it clear they won't be forgetting it any time soon, and those feelings should only intensify if they do postseason battle for the third consecutive occasion.

OCT 10 VANDER ESCH OUT 4-6 WEEKS, SO … Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is set to miss 4-6 weeks after enduring a neck strain during Sunday night's 42-10 shellacking at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. A trip to injured reserve is possible and head coach Mike McCarthy did not rule out the possibility of bringing in a veteran free agent.

Cowboys’ Vander Esch

Cowboys’ Vander Esch

"In our personnel meeting we touched on some potential opportunities," McCarthy said, per CowboysSI's Mike Fisher. "But we just want to make sure we have all of the information before we head down that road."

We might also toss out there the possibility of a trade - also worth “info gathering.”

A dangerous six-game stretch for the Cowboys does feature their bye week in between a Los Angeles doubleheader against the Chargers on Monday (7:15 p.m. CT, ABC/ESPN) and the Rams at home on Oct. 29 before the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers take them into their Thanksgiving celebration.

OCT 9 COWBOYS LOSE SPECIAL TEAMS ACE The Dallas Cowboys special teams were dealt two blows in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

First, Pro Bowl returner KaVontae Turpin left the game with what is now known as a high ankle sprain and could be out for six weeks. While core special teamer C.J. Goodwin is now expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, according to a report from the Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken.

OCT 9 TURPIN OUT, AND ...  KaVontae Turpin, who scored the Cowboys' team's lone touchdown with his 26-yard catch in Sunday's 42-10 blowout at San Francisco, likely sustained a high-ankle sprain and now could be out for six weeks.

Dallas is having the Pro Bowl return man undergo an MRI to confirm that likelihood ... one of a number of Cowboys players who on Monday need further medical attention.

And along with the concern comes an unusual quote from a team source via the Dallas News, the source saying that Turpin's diagnosis is "the least of our worries.''

We get it; Dallas got crushed in every way, and the "worries'' are many. But we'd like to think the source doesn't intend for that quote to sound as cold-hearted as it does.

OCT 8 TWO COWBOYS INJURED Cowboys special-teams ace C.J. Goodwin (left shoulder) is questionable to return to this "Sunday Night Football'' meeting at the 49ers as he is trying to play through the issue.

Meanwhile, receiver and return man KaVontae Turpin - who has a touchdown catch in this first half, Dallas' only offensive flash as the Cowboys trail 21-7 at the half - injured his ankle on a kick return when the 49ers aggressively went after his lower leg.

Rookie Deuce Vaughn will fill in as the return guy if needed. But at the moment? The two guys down represent Dallas' best two special-teamers.

OCT 4 MCCARTHY LAUDS PURDY'S 'TOTAL COMMAND' Having seen his share of victorious offenses, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy believes Brock Purdy has made himself an essential part of the current operation in San Francisco.

Purdy, who puts his perfect regular season mark on the line against the Cowboys on Sunday night (7:20 p.m. CT, NBC), has had detractors question whether he is truly the long-term answer behind center for the 49ers. McCarthy, who is well aware of what it takes to foster a franchise man,

"I think the biggest thing is that he has total command of the offense," McCarthy said. "“He’s played high level football his whole life.”

Purdy, the final pick of the 2022 draft, has posted a league-best 115.1 passer rating over the first four games of this season, throwing no interceptions on 112 attempts. His 49ers are one of two undefeated teams left in the league alongside Philadelphia.

OCT 2 MICAH OK? Dallas coach Mike McCarthy on Monday rattled off the names of his Cowboys who have any sort of injury issues coming off Sunday's 38-3 win over the Patriots

And when Cowboys fans heard Micah Parsons’ name mentioned?

Yes, you were probably “rattled” yourself.

Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons

During the game, Micah has the medical staff lol at his knee and ankle; he was clearly dinged up. He did play through it, however.

That matters for Week 5 as the 3-1 Cowboys play at the undefeated 49ers.

McCarthy said the issue is “not of high concern” to him. So hey, if I head coach isn’t worried … you shouldn’t be … Right?

OCT 2 DOWDLE (HIP) TO UNDERGO MRI Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle is set to undergo an MRI on Monday after leaving Sunday's 38-3 victory over the New England Patriots with what was officially declared a hip injury. Dowdle, the top spell option to Tony Pollard, had nine yards on three carries before leaving.

“I’ve got to go watch it,” Dowdle said of his ailment. “I don’t know if I fell on it or if I got hit, took a helmet to it. One of the two. It felt like I took a helmet to it."

"I don’t think it’s something too bad. I’ll probably be out a couple days, maybe a couple weeks. We’ll see the severity of it.”

Dowdle missed the entire 2021 season due to a separate hip injury

Dowdle missed the entire 2021 season due to a separate hip injury

Deuce Vaughn took over Dowdle's snaps over the rest of Sunday's shellacking. The Cowboys have often tried to insert Dowdle into their systems every since he came over as an undrafted rookie from South Carolina in 2020 but bad medical luck has plagued his NFL career. A different hip injury, for example, previously cost him all of the 2020 season. Dowdle earned his first career in NFL in the prior week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cowboys believe Dowdle and Zack Martin (ankle) will both be fine for this week, but they'll start on Wednesday in the rehab group before hopefully resuming practice.

SEPT 29 COWBOYS 3 MOVES The Cowboys have as expected signed center Brock Hoffman up from the practice squad and on to the 53-man roster. … as the club is thin there with Tyron Smith (knee) out and Zack Martin (ankle) and Tyler Biadasz (hamstring) planning to play.

Also up this week from the practice squad are Texas Longhorns linebacker Malik Jefferson (because in the roster shuffle Devin Harper was lost via waivers to the Bengals) and tight end Sean McKeon, who fills a possible need as late in the week Peyton Hendershot was moved to the injury list and listed as “questionable,” as are Martin and Biadasz.

SEPT 28 TRYSTEN TO TEXANS? The Dallas Cowboys blew it when they drafted Trysten Hill. But the Houston Texans need help along the defensive line ... so the Cowboys' former second-round bust received a tryout in Houston on Thursday, a source told TexansDaily.com.

Hill, now 25, was the apple of the eye of then-Dallas defensive boss Rod Marinelli, but the 2019 pick was approved by everyone else in the organization as well. Hill is 6-3 and 300 and has bounced around on various practice squads in recent years.

SEPT 23 THREE O-LINEMEN QUESTIONABLE The Cowboys are doing some O-line moving due to injuries to a trio of starters, as Tyron Smith, Zack Martin and Tyler Biadasz are all officially listed as 'questionable' for Week 3 at Arizona.

Biadasz (hamstring) and Martin (ankle) were already mild concerns late in the week. But on Saturday, Tyron (knee) was added to the list.

Along with that, the Cowboys elevated centers Brock Hoffman and Sean Harlow from the practice squad.

Dallas also moved Trevon Diggs to IR and signed CJ Goodwin to the 53-man roster.

SEPT 22 BIADASZ CONCERN? Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy apepared on @1053thefan on Friday morning to offer an injury update on center Tyler Biadasz, who injured his hamstring in Thursday's workout and needed an MRI.

“Talking with the medical staff last night, they think he’ll be ready to go,'' McCarthy said. "But when you have these type of things show up late like they do, the next morning is obviously an important evaluation. But they were not of high concern last night.”

SEPT 21 BIADASZ HAMSTRING INJURY? Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs was not the only player to recently undergo an MRI, as starting center Tyler Biadasz is doing to do so as well due to a hamstring injury ... which has popped up as an issue via the team's official Wednesday practice report.

While the Cowboys will not benefit from the 2023 return of Diggs following his torn ACL, the Cowboys believe Biadasz "will be OK," according to reports.

Dallas is 2-0 and plays at winless Arizona on Sunday.

SEPT 21 DIGGS DONE The Cowboys' worst fears were confirmed on Thursday afternoon as the MRI for star cornerback Trevon Diggs confirmed that he tore his ACL in practice, according to NFL.com's Tom Pelissero.

Dallas team leader Dak Prescott, when asked what happened with Diggs, said, “I’m not going to speak on anything. It’s way too early. I saw what I guess a couple of you saw, him leaving the field. But prayers, hoping for the best.”

In the two games he played this season, Diggs recorded four tackles, three passes defensed, a forced fumble and an interception, with opposing quarterbacks having completed just 2 of 8 passes for 26 yards and one interception when throwing at Diggs, who has therefore earned an absurdly good 1.0 QB rating in coverage.

SEPT 20 MICAH HONORED Cowboys "Lion-backer'' Micah Parsons has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his work in Dallas' 30-10 victory over the New York Jets in Week 2.

Along with him bringing constant pressure vs. the Jets, Parsons was special on the stat sheet as well, as he recorded two sacks, forced an interception and caused a Dalvin Cook fumble that he'd forced.

Micah has repeated said that Dallas' "statement'' is, "We're the best defense in the NFL.'' And this week? He's being recognized as being the best of the best.

SEPT 18 GUARD INJURY UPDATE Tyler Smith has missed the first two games of the Cowboys season with a hamstring strain, and he'll be working take the field in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. So will Zack Martin, who came up with a dinged ankle in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets ... and there seems to be some conservatism there.

On Smith: "We feel very optimistic about Tyler having a great chance at having a shot against Arizona," Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told 105.3FM the Fan on Monday.

And on Martin, who said he could've kept playing in Week 2 if needed? Coach Mike McCarthy said Martin and Chuma Edoga (elbow sprain/forearm bone bruise) will likely miss the start of this practice week on Wednesday ... and McCarthy made no grand promises about Martin for Sunday.

SEPT 17 OBJ INJURED Odell Beckham, once the apple of Jerry Jones' eye, was playing in Week 2 for the Ravens before early in the second half the team announced that OBJ had been ruled out with an ankle injury.

Beckham was out for a few plays in the first half, received medical attention, and then returned ... before he was shut down.

Beckham ends the day with three catches for 29 yards with the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens up 27-17 with half of the final quarter remaining against a Bengals team, led by Joe Burrow, that may fall to 0-2.

The Cowboys flirted with the idea of signing Beckham but backed off due to injury concerns. Instead, they traded for Brandin Cooks, who it is worth noting has a knee injury and is inactive in Week 2 against the Jets.

SEPT. 17 COOKS OUT? As the Dallas Cowboys look to open the season 2-0 for the first time since 2019, they will likely have to do it without one of their top receivers Brandin Cooks.

According to a report from ESPN, Cooks "is not expected to play" against the New York Jets on Sunday after sustaining a sprained knee in the season-opening 40-0 win against the New York Giants.

Cooks was acquired in the offseason by the Cowboys in a trade with the Houston Texans, which gave them a potential three-headed monster out wide as he joined CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup atop the depth chart.

After recording two catches for 22 yards in Week 1, Cooks will watch from the sidelines and likely help coach up second-year receiver Jalen Tolbert, who is largely expected to be called upon to help fill the void.

SEPT. 14 BRANDT TO BE HONORED IN COWBOYS HOME OPENER Sunday's tilt against the New York Jets (3:25 p.m. CT, CBS) will be the first Dallas Cowboys game without the physical prescience of Gil Brandt, as the renowned North Texas front office prescience passed away on Aug. 31 at the age of 91.

Brandt, a Hall of Fame and Cowboys Ring of Honor inductee who served as the team's vice president of player personnel for their first 29 seasons (1960-88), will be remembered on the field on Sunday: Dallas' helmets will bear a memorial sticker in Brandt's honor, the tribute featuring his first name placed upon the famed star emblem.

Dallas previously honored the passing of original head coach Tom Landry during the 2000 season, wearing a memorial batch depicting his famous fedora throughout the campaign.

SEPT. 13 COWBOYS UNIFORM GETS SUBTLE MAKEOVER Just in time for the end of New York Fashion Week, observant views of the Dallas Cowboys' aesthetics have noticed that the team could be making a subtle change to its relatively eternal color palette.

As noticed by sports uniform and aesthetic archiver TruColor, the Cowboys' official style guide shows that the gray/silver pants often paired with the (supposedly unlucky) navy jersey now feature royal blue stripes. Supposedly, the new pants could be worn when Dallas dons its white jersey (traditionally considered to be their home uniform) on the road, but the team dressed in its light blue/silver pants for Sunday's 40-0 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Football fashion aficionados will no doubt keep an eye on any changes. As it stands, Dallas appears scheduled to wear its navy jersey for the first time on Oct. 29 when it faces the Los Angeles Rams at home. Dallas' next road game lands on Sept. 24 in Arizona.

SEPT. 12 AARON RODGERS 'CAREER OVER'? After an offseason of hype, Aaron Rodgers left the New York Jets' highly anticipated Monday Night Football opener against the Buffalo Bills with what we now know is a serious Achilles injury. His status for the Jets' next game? Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium against the Cowboys? He's out. But it's much worse than that ...

The Jets first announced that the 39-year-old Rodgers was out the rest of Monday's game, which in the end became an OT win over the Bills.

The four-time MVP was sacked on the Jets' fourth offensive play. After a seemingly innocent tackle by Buffalo's Leonard Floyd for a 10-yard sack, Rodgers briefly stood up but then went back to the ground. He limped to the sideline and into New York's medical tent, but was soon carted to the locker room and put into a walking boot for further evaluation.

Zach Wilson is in for the Jets at quarterback. Rodgers officially went 0 of 1 in his Jets' debut.

And yet … somehow the Jets win in OT, 22-16, when Dallas' own Xavier Gipson returns the punt for a 65-yard game-winning touchdown.

But back to Rodgers: It's a full tear. He's done for the year. And informed media folks are already suggesting he's done for his career.

And now comes more speculation about a Jets pursuit of QB help. ... which includes guessing at names involving everybody from Tom Brady to Colin Kaepernick.

SEPT 10. 'GOOD TO BE BACK' - Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin was never fired by NFL Network and in fact continued to collect his normal paycheck for the last seven months even while not being allowed to work while involved in a sexual harassment controversy.

But this weekend a settlement was reached with Marriott in his $100 million defamation lawsuit, and as the Dallas News has noted, suddenly he is set to re-appear on NFL Network on Sunday morning.

And here is that appearance ...

"Good to be back,'' Irvin said in the morning show intro.

A woman’s accusation in February at the start of Super Bowl Week in Arizona caused him to be removed from his on-air assignments. He also ceased appearing on ESPN and has since taking a job on “Undisputed” with Skip Bayless on FS1.

“I did nothing wrong!” Irvin reiterated to CowboysSI.com recently. ... and now it seems that debate is behind him.

SEPT 8 COACH OUT The Dallas Cowboys are about to unveil their new running backs room in the post-Ezekiel Elliott era … but there a position coach will not be here in New York to be a part of it

As the team boards the plane at DFW for its trip here to the New York area, position coach Jeff Blasko will be staying behind, having been granted a “medical leave” by the team.

Blasko is in his first year working with Tony Pollard and the running backs after spending three seasons here as an assistant offensive line coach. In New York against the Giants in Week 1, his duties will be shared by a group of others on Mike McCarthy’s staff.

SEPT 6 NEW FOR NEVILLE The Cowboys have restructured the contract of defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, on Tuesday having agreed to a reworked deal to free up cap space ahead of the regular season.

As first noted by ESPN, Dallas reduced Gallimore’s base salary from $2.7 million for 2023 down to $1.5 million. Gallimore, 26 and a third-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2020, can earn back $750,000 through incentives in this re-do of his rookie deal.

Gallimore, thought to be on the roster bubble this year, appeared in 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 33 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack and figures as part of Dallas' D-line rotation this year.

SEPT. 5 JERRY JONES TOASTS DEION VICTORY - The folks in Boulder and throughout HBCU Nation weren't the only ones watching in amazement last Saturday as Deion Sanders orchestrated Colorado's exhilarating 45-42 upset of TCU. Sanders, who helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl XXX almost 30 years ago, also caught the attention of his former owner.

"I was watching and ... Deion is exciting and good for college football," Jerry Jones said Tuesday morning on his 105.3 The Fan radio show. "Anybody with any kind of orientation toward the Cowboys has got to be excited, too."

Jones' current Cowboys open the season Sunday night against the New York Giants. In the same stadium in 1998, it was Sanders who single-handedly beat the Giants with an epic Monday Night Football - "Prime Time" - performance. He became the first NFL player since 1966 to return a punt and an interception for touchdowns in the same game. Just for fun, Deion added a 55-yard reception as a receiver to set up another score in Dallas' 31-7 win.
