Amari hurt and Cowboys down 7-3 early to Jets; No way this is a 'trap game' ... right?

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ. - Trap Game?
The definition of a "trap game'' one that sneaks up on you, one that you should've been aware of but somehow weren't ... maybe because you were too busy "sniffing yourself,'' as Dak Prescott put it. A "trap game'' occurs when you assume you are invincible and ignore seemingly weak threats to your invincibility.
Dallas came in having lost two straight games, so there should be no shroud of invincibility. The Cowboys, after this, are about to embark on the toughest eight-game stretch in the NFL, so there should be no reason to take precious wins for granted.. This game is in New York, on national TV, and it's a late-afternoon game, so there is no available "time-change'' factor'' or "sleep-walk'' excuse.
Only truly great teams should ever experience a "trap game'' -- and then, if they are truly great, they go ahead and win it, anyway.
Dallas isn't great. So this isn't a trap. Or, at least, it'd better not be. And yet .. problems. In addition to offensive first-unit guys Tyron Smith, La'el Collins and Randall Cobb being injured and scratched, Amari Cooper has re-aggravated his quad and at the start of the second quarter with Dallas down 7-3, Cooper is called "questionable'' to return.
Injuries. Lethargy. And an early deficit against a winless team. No way this is a "trap'' game ... right?
