FRISCO - A defensive leader, Leighton Vander Esch, says the Dallas Cowboys' frustration level is "higher than ever.'' An offensive leader, Ezekiel Elliott, says he's never before been more personally "frustrated.''

Cowboys Nation feels the same way. And so, who do we take our frustrations out on?

We do it in the form of demanding firing, contemplating trades and picking apart perceived offenders.

As I've chronicled in this space many times before, linebacker Jaylon Smith is a very easy person to like. But ... my "Locked On Cowboys'' buddies, podcast hosts Marcus Mosher and Landon McCool, point out that right now, Jaylon is also a very easy player to vent our frustrations at. Meanwhile, SI's Albert Breer goes so far as to Jaylon is "playing for his job'' ...

In this episode, Mosher and Landon McCool discuss the trade of Everson Griffen (another target of ire) and why Dallas made the move ... plus dig into more trade rumors ahead of the NFL deadline.

And then, yes, they discuss if Jaylon Smith will be back on the team for the 2021 season.

These are difficult times for the 2-5 Dallas Cowboys, and difficult times for the fan base as well. Will more trades lessen the frustration and maybe lead to more wins ... or at least a brighter future? Is there a way to help the high-paid members of the roster who are very much responsible for the 2-5 limp-along get better? We do some venting here, but also some analysis, of the problems ... and maybe some fixes.
