#231 Saints - Alize Mack, TE, Notre Dame
OUTLOOK: One of the more volatile prospects in this year’s draft class, Mack was suspended for the bowl game last year due to an internal manner. He missed the entire previous season after failing to qualify academically. He originally accepted his Senior Bowl invite but school requirements prevented him from attending. He played at powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, where he won three state championships. However, the hype outweighed his production during his time in South Bend. Has the potential to be special player of the light bulb ever turns on.
#232 Giants - George Asafo-Adjei, T, Kentucky
#233 Dolphins - Chandler Cox, RB, Auburn
OUTLOOK: It’s easy to root for the versatile Cox, who has multiple uses in the Auburn offense, primarily as a blocker but also as a runner and pass catcher. While it has yet to be unveiled this season, Cox was also seen taking direct snaps in training camp during the Tigers installation of the Wildcat package, yet another way he can hurt a defense. Cox shows up every day with his hard hat and he hasn’t held back his excitement to face LSU, saying that the game is going to be a ‘bloodbath.’ Cox timed in at 4.70/4.78 at the Auburn pro day, adding a 32” vertical jump, 9-3 broad jump and 18 bench press reps of 225 pounds.
#234 Dolphins - Myles Gaskin, RB, Washington
OUTLOOK: Doesn’t have great strength or top notch speed but runs with real heart and passion. Gaskin amassed 5,788 total yards during his career and finished as the school’s all-time leading rusher with 5,323 yards and touchdown leader with an impressive 62 scores in 52 games played. He bypassed an opportunity to boost his draft stock by declining his invitation to the Senior Bowl. He’s a ping pong ball in the open field and might be viewed as nothing more than a slasher at the next level.
#235 Jaguars - Dontavius Russell, DT, Auburn
OUTLOOK: While overshadowed by splashier talents, Russell proved to be Mr. Reliable at Auburn, starting 49 of a possible 52 games over his career and even opting to compete at the Senior Bowl. He isn't going to wow anyone with his agility as a pass rusher - recording just six sacks over his career - but he's a steady run-stuffing presence whose size and strength will appeal to 4-3 and 3-4 disciples, alike. Pro-ready out of the box, Russell should be able to mix into the rotation as a rookie. Better yet, given all of the talent on the defensive line in this draft, his blue collar (rather than blue chip) game likely will have him still on the board well into Day Three, making Russell a potentially terrific value.
