Background:

Todd Centeio attended William T. Dwyer High School and had 2,344 yards and 35 touchdowns as a senior before electing to play for Temple. After redshirting his 2017 season, Centeio completed 12 of 18 passes for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns as the third-string Quarterback and was the only Quarterback in the country to play Upback on Special Teams. Still fighting for a more prominent role in 2019, Centeio finished with 34 completions of 51 attempts, 444 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception. With Temple, he rushed 71 times for 235 yards and 1 touchdown. Before transferring to Colorado State, he earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll three times and American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors. With the Rams, Centeio was successful on 14 of 36 passes for 207 yards and had 1 touchdown and 1 interception in 2020. In 2021, he played as a starter for the first time in his collegiate career and finished with 229 completions on 380 attempts, 2958 passing yards, 439 rushing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Centeio decided to enter the transfer portal once more for his final year of eligibility and landed with James Madison University. In 10 starts, Centeio completed 181 of 284 passes, passed for 2697 yards, scored 25 passing touchdowns, threw 5 interceptions, and rushed 94 times for 393 yards and 7 touchdowns. For his success, he earned Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference Quarterback, and was a finalist for the Bill Dudley Award for the best DI football player in Virginia.
