One-Liners

A player who does his job, Moore doesn’t have any standout traits and lacks the athleticism to be anything more than depth at the next level.

Evaluation:

On film, Moore looks the part. He has a filled out frame, with a strong lower half. His play strength was evident, though he struggles to wrap up ball carriers at times. Playing as the MIKE in NC State’s defense, Moore did his job for their defense. He played close to the line of scrimmage, making the easy plays that came to him and rushing the passer. Moore wasn’t asked to do much in coverage but he didn’t look natural backpedaling. His spatial awareness and feel for where receivers were, was also lacking. Moore is tight-hipped, so he will struggle to change direction with quicker players. His straight line speed is fine but he isn’t athletic and that tightness will make him a liability in coverage. As a run defender, Moore couldn’t get off blocks. Far too often, Moore was driven out of the play. He lacked the ability to redirect on counters and cuts and Moore’s stop/start was very slow. In terms of his next level projection, Moore doesn’t have much upside. As a 5th year player, his instincts were just average. He doesn’t have a standout trait, outside of his frame. Moore would have to be hidden in a defense but he does have the ability to contribute on special teams. That should definitely land him on an NFL roster for training camp.
