The Eagles are not only getting receiver DeSean Jackson back into the lineup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and Darren Sproles are also active.

Jernigan has been out since suffering a foot injury on Sept. 15 against the Atlanta Falcons. His return should bolster a defensive line that had lost Malik Jackson for the season in Week One and has relied heavily on Fletcher Cox and former practice squad players Albert Huggins, Anthony Rush and Bruce Hector.

Hector was released earlier in the week and added back the team’s practice squad.

Sproles has been out since suffering a quad injury against the New Yok Jets on Oct. 6. He left the game shortly after moving into fifth-place on the NFL’s all-time list in all-purpose yards with 19,684. Sproles passed Tim Brown, who has 19,682 yards.

The Eagles will have four running backs active. In addition to Sproles, they also have former Bears running back Jordan Howard, rookie Miles Sanders, and Boston Scott.

Somewhat surprisingly, cornerback and former second-round draft pick Sidney Jones is a healthy scratch.

Earlier in the week, head coach Doug Pederson said that Avonte Maddox would start at slot cornerback over Jones. Maddox is making his return to the field after enduring a frightening hit late in the Eagles’ win at Green Bay on Sept. 26 and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. Maddox had a concussion and neck injury.

Still, Jones won’t even serve as a backup. That job goes to Craig James, who had been on the practice squad earlier this season.

The other inactives for the Eagles are: left tackle Jason Peters, who will miss his third straight game with a knee injury, linebacker Nigel Bradham, defensive ends Shareef Miller and Daeshon Hall, quarterback Nate Sudfeld, offensive lineman Nate Herbig.
