Falcons-Rams: Todd Gurley active for Week 7 matchup
The Atlanta Falcons will attempt to give the Los Angeles Rams their fourth straight loss at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, but in order to do that, the Falcons will probably have to stop Rams running back Todd Gurley.
The 2017 and 2018 All-Pro running back missed Los Angeles' game last week against the San Francisco 49ers because of a quad injury, but he is listed as active for the Falcons-Rams Week 7 matchup.
Gurley has 270 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season.
Rams backup running back Malcolm Brown is listed as inactive with an ankle injury. That means it will be Gurley and third-string back Darrell Henderson in the backfield for the Rams on Sunday. Gurley should receive plenty of carries, as Los Angeles searches to re-find its balanced offensive attack.
For the Falcons, who are trying to stop their own losing streak, cornerback Desmond Trufant, as expected, is again inactive. Trufant didn't play last week either because of a toe injury.
Trufant has Atlanta's only two interceptions this season.
Without Trufant, the Falcons will likely turn to rookie cornerback Kendall Sheffield to start in his place. Sheffield made his first career NFL start last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Here is the entire list of inactives for the Falcons and Rams in Week 7:
Matt Gono, offensive lineman

D.J. White, cornerback
