Falcons-Saints: CB Desmond Trufant inactive again in Week 10

Dave Holcomb

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 10 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Trufant has been dealing with a toe injury for most of the season and hasn't played since Week 5. He struggled before his injury, but his replacements have arguably been worse, and Trufant has the only two interceptions for the Falcons the whole season. He also has four pass defenses and and five tackles.

Those picks came in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Trufant hasn't played since Week 5 versus the Houston Texans.

Trufant come into the week questionable, but he will be inactive for the fourth straight game. Without him, the Falcons will turn to Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Kendall Sheffield to play opposite Isaiah Oliver.

Joining Trufant on the Falcons inactive list Sunday morning was offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer and rookie defensive lineman John Cominsky. Neither are starters but have provided depth this season.

For the Saints, all their key injured best players are healthy coming off the team's bye week. Quarterback Drew Brees returned the game prior to the week off while running back Alvin Kamara and tight end Jared Cook are also recovered and active in Week 10.
