The Giants have signed tight end Scott Simonson to the 53-man roster. Simonson, 6-5 and 261 pounds, was with the team last year and into the summer, but suffered an ankle injury in the preseason finale in New England.

Simonson was placed on the injured reserve and then released on Sept. 10 after reaching an injury settlement with the team.

The Giants also signed tight end Garrett Dickerson, wide receiver Alex Bachman, and long-snapper Colin Holba to their practice squad and released receiver Reggie White Jr and defensive end Freedom Akinmoladun from the practice squad.

Dickerson, 6-3 and 252 pounds, played four games last year and three this season for the Giants before he was waived on Oct. 22.  He originally joined the team as a rookie free agent from Northwestern on June 4, 2018.

Bachman, 6-0 and 190 pounds, was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as a rookie free agent on April 29 out of Wake Forest and was waived on Sept. 5. He caught two passes for 24 yards in the preseason.

Holba, 6-4 and 255 pounds, has played in 13 NFL regular-season games, including the first two this season with San Francisco. He also played seven with Jacksonville in 2017 and four with the 49ers last year.

He was originally a sixth-round draft choice (213th overall selection) by the Steelers in 2017 out of Louisville.
