The Giants waived OL Evan Brown. Brown, who last week was promoted from the practice squad to give the team depth at center given the hamstring injury to Jon Halapio, is likely headed back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Giants now have a roster spot open on their 53-man roster and could be looking to add another tight end to the mix given the news that Rhett Ellison has been placed in the protocol.

The Giants right now are short on tight ends as in addition to Ellison, Evan Engram has been dealing with a  foot sprain.

One name to watch for the Giants at this spot is Scott Simonson, whom the Giants waived with an injury settlement. Simonson is eligible to return to the Giants this week if he can pass a physical, and is scheduled to have a workout with the team this week.

Meanwhile, defensive back Corn Elder, whom the Giants signed to the practice squad on September 2, was signed by the Panthers to their 53-man roster.
