NEW YORK | DeAndre Baker placed on Commissioner's Exempt List

Giants second-year cornerback DeAndre Baker was put on the Commissioner's Exempt List ahead of the Giants veterans reporting to training camp for their first COVID-19 test on Tuesday.

Baker, who traveled to New Jersey Sunday for training camp from his home state of Florida, was accused of armed robbery and aggravated assault stemming from an alleged incident on May 13 in Miramar, Florida, and has been trying to clear his name.

WASHINGTON | Cody Latimer placed on Commissioner's Exempt List

Washington's veteran wide receiver Cody Latimer, signed this offseason, was also placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List Monday and can't practice or attend games. With the club’s permission, he can be present at the club’s facility on a reasonable basis for meetings.

Latimer was accused of multiple felonies, including illegal discharge of a firearm, assault, and reckless endangerment related to an alleged incident in May.

PHILADELPHIA | Doug Pederson feels safe returning to Eagles facility

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said he feels safe opening the team's training camp despite the Miami Marlins having had several players test positive for COVID-19 after playing the Philadelphia Phillies this past weekend at Citizens Bank Park. The baseball stadium is across the street from the Eagles' practice facility at the Novacare Complex.
