Giants head coach Pat Shurmur is pulling the plug on his weekly radio spot with WFAN's Mike Francesa.

The Giants head coach confirmed the news, first reported by Newsday, when he met with reporters before Thursday's practice.

Shurmur's last interview with Francesa done on Monday was a bit on the contentious side as a very frustrated Francesa called Shurmur out on the air and point-blank told the Giants head coach that his team didn't look good at anything.

Shurmur, in explaining the reason behind the decision to cancel the spot, said Thursday, "I think that was an organizational decision not to do that. Most people aren't aware of this but I wasn't contractually obligated to do that spot."

Earlier this year, quarterback Eli Manning canceled his weekly radio spot on Francesa's show.

Manning, who notified WFAN of the decision shortly after this year's draft and the team's selection of Daniel Jones at No. 6 overall because he wasn't sure if he'd be the starting quarterback for the team the entire year.
