Training Camp Roster Preview: LS Zak DeOssie

Patricia Traina

DeOssie has been Mr. Reliable since being drafted by the Giants. The heart of the special teams operation, DeOssie's long snapping has not only been a strength, but he has continued to amaze every year with his ability to pop right up after snapping the ball and hustling down the field where he's usually one of, if not the first players in the picture to make a tackle.

Looking Ahead

DeOssie probably has a job for as long as he wants it and for as long as his body holds up. At 35 years old, he's the second oldest member on the team behind Eli Manning.

The Giants usually try to get a backup ready every year just in case DeOssie isn't ready to go--this year the name to watch is James O'Hagan--but thus far the two-time Pro Bowler has been a constant, and should continue to be for the upcoming season.

Zak's had a long and productive career. I know players move on, but can you imagine life without him and Eli at this point?
