The Jacksonville Jaguars opening this game as favorites is .... surprising to say the least. The New Orleans Saints are 4-1 thus far in 2019 and have truly looked like a complete team, even with future hall of fame quarterback Drew Brees sidelined for most of the season.
Adding to what makes this a strange betting line is the fact that Jacksonville's best player, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, is not even guaranteed to play after missing the last two games with a back injury. Ramsey has been limited in practice all week this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game. If he can't go, the Jaguars will be without their top defender against All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas, which isn't a place any team wants to be.
However, the health and game day status of Saints running back Alvin Kamara is also in question after he sat out of Friday's practice with an ankle injury. If Kamara is unable to play, then the Jaguars should have a better chance of winning, though it would still be a shaky bet to take.
As for the over/under, it seems like an appropriate number based on the fact that the Saints and Jaguars have each had prolific offenses at points this season. After the Jaguars amassed over 500 yards last week against the Carolina Panthers, and also allowed nearly that many, it is feeling more and more like a safe bet to count on them helping the games reach the over.
