Not too long ago, Brandon Marshall was helping the Jets win games with his performance between the lines. Now, he's doing his part to recruit Deshaun Watson to New York.

The former wide receiver, who spent a pair of seasons during his 13-year career in green and white, said Watson would be a perfect fit in New York.

"The New York Jets is the perfect landing spot for Deshaun Watson," Marshall told TMZ Sports. "He's going to turn this thing around and we've been waiting for someone like him to lead the way."

Watson officially requested a trade from the Texans this week and although it'll certainly take a lot of draft capital to acquire the star quarterback from Houston, Marshall thinks New York should go all in.

"You know where he's going!" he exclaimed in the interview. "New York, baby, we love you. Come on, we got you. We've got a seat at the table right here, okay? It's going to be you, Woody [Johnson], we're going to have [Robert Saleh], [Joe Douglas] and whoever else you want to invite to the table."

Marshall explained that if Watson were to choose the Jets—the quarterback has a no-trade clause and will have the final say in his destination—he can help the Jets with free agency, with their draft picks and play a role in taking this team to contention off the field as well.

Not to mention the fact that Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and will be for years to come. His presence can immediately take what's been one of the worst offensive units in the sport to the next level, recruiting other players to join forces with him on the Jets as well.

As for the New York media, since Marshall played for both the Jets and Giants in his career, the wideout assured Watson will be fine.

"It's phenomenal and it's perfect for you. If you're a guy that performs on the field, and if you're a guy that's humble and a good guy, which he is, then they're going to love you," he said. "Just come in and be exactly who you are and you're going to be fine, you're going to be cherished and people are going to take care of you."

Marshall made the Pro Bowl six times in his career, once with the Jets in 2015. He set a career-high that season with 14 touchdown receptions, leading the league. Marshall last played in 2018, finishing his career with 12,351 receiving yards on 970 catches in 179 games.

The former wide receiver isn't the first to advise Watson to choose the Jet and odds are he won't be the last. 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, who has experience playing for Jets head coach Robert Saleh, said recently that Watson should "head to New York" as quickly as he can.
