The Lions' secondary has emerged as one of the strengths of the team in 2019.

And Justin Coleman and Darius Slay may be the best cornerback tandem in the NFL.

Each week when reviewing the film, Slay and Coleman are doing the little things exceptionally well. The duo is challenging opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers on a weekly basis.

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is aware of the challenge that awaits him at Ford Field Sunday.

"He (Slay) was a high draft pick, so all along, they have targeted him to be a great cover corner," Cousins said. "He has done it in different schemes."

Cousins added, "When you draw up a corner, you want a guy who can cover in man-to-man, can run down the field with your best receivers, have good ball skills, have a good sense of the game, can play with awareness and feel certain routes. He has all those abilities. The longer you play, the more you develop those intangibles. He is a great athlete and a great player. Certainly one of those corners, and there is a handful of them in the league. You are aware of how talented they are and how well they can glove somebody when they are given the opportunity."
