PACKERS-BRONCOS GAMEDAY Rather than posting the occasional thought on Twitter, I'll save those for this thread. By the way, it's been raining here for an hour. 90 percent chance of rain at noon, 90 percent at 1 p.m., 80 percent at 2 p.m. and 60 percent at 3 p.m.

  3. N.Y. Giants Sept. 15, 1974 (vs. Washington) 365

A few inactives notes: Kumerow is out, which is a bit of a surprise. Lazard is up and so is Shepherd. With Montravius Adams out, Kingsley Keke is up for the first time. Ka'Dar Hollman is out again. This was his first week of being full participation at practice (neck) All four TEs are up. Light and Patrick are the backups on the OL

In pregame, Crosby just gets it across from 56 to the north end and blasted it through from 56 to the south. Doesn't seem to be any wind on the field but perhaps it's different up in the bowl.

After Lewis' third catch of the year - already matching last year's total - Rodgers gets the free-play TD. MVS roasts DB Kareem Jackson, showing why I questioned whether they had anyone to play opposite Adams.

Preston Smith with the sack. Gary had a hand on him before Smith nailed him. Excellent coverage. In nickel, Redmond came in; in dime, Williams came in.

Third-and-15 conversion by the Packers. Three-man rush by Broncos and yet they didn't cover MVS for a gain of 28.

Broncos eat up the final 7:53 of the first quarter. As I wrote in the preview, the Broncos have moved the ball in both of their games. Just can't score. First-and-goal at the 4 as we start the second.

Packers have dime on the field on first- and second-and-goal. Denver goes 15 plays and takes 8:35 for the TD.

Denver has had 19 possessions. 16 of those have reached the opponent's side of midfield.

GB, by the way, was 6-for-6 in the red zone before that TD. GAve up their first passing yards in the red zone this season, too.

Chris Harris lobbies for the OPI. By doing so, he does his team no favors. Challenge flag is thrown and it's a ridiculous challenge.

Crosby appeared to be shaken up on the first kickoff - the long return - but he drills the kick. Packers up 10-7.

With first-and-goal at the 8, the Broncos have a 2-1 edge in time of possession. And they get the ball to start the second half. Something to watch on a humid day.

Za'Darius Smith beats maligned Denver LT Garett Bolles for the sack. Huge play, given Denver gets the ball to start the second half. 10-10 though.

Preston Smith storms around their backup right tackle for the sack/strip. Was arm going forward? Will be reviewed. Huge moment of the game. Packers ball, first-and-goal at the 5. Gary with the recovery.

Elgton Jenkins with the spike. Aaron Jones (perhaps) untouched on the 7-yard run. That's a huge swing given the way this game was going. Clearly, my questions about the Smith signings were unfounded. I'll admit that.

The Smiths have 5.5 sacks this year. More than Matthews and Perry all of last year.

Jaire Alexander with Grand Theft Football against Noah Fant. The return gets brought back on replay but a game-changing play by the second-year corner.

On the big play to Danny Vitale, receiver Allen Lazard motioned into the backfield and helped with pass protection. Vitale sneaks out of the backfield against LB Josey Jewell for a gain of 25. Just like that, it's 24-10.

Kevin King having a miserable game. Just gave up a stop-and-go for 52. Took the cheese, and then stopped on the route.

Tyler Lancaster with the big pass rush and this looks like an INT for Savage.

Rodgers now has five consecutive throwaways - including all three following the Savage interception

Through three Q's, Green Bay has rushed for 46 yards. Lindsay has 81 and Freeman has 48. Almost a 2-to-1 edge in time of possession for Denver.
