McShay Has 'Heard Some Buzz' as to Who Carolina Likes at No. 1

More noise surrounding the top pick.

David Tepper, Scott Fitterer, Dan Morgan, Frank Reich, Thomas Brown, Josh McCown, and the rest of the Carolina Panthers brass were able to watch three of the top four quarterbacks throw at their respective Pro Days this past week - C.J. Stroud (Ohio State), Bryce Young (Alabama), and Will Levis (Kentucky). Anthony Richardson's Pro Day at Florida is scheduled for March 30th.

From now until the moment the Panthers turn the card in, there will be a lot of discussion/debate about who they will choose with the top pick in the draft. When the trade was made, the initial feeling was that they moved up to get C.J. Stroud although they made it clear that they made the move to be in control and that there wasn't one guy in particular that they had their eyes on.

Following last week's Pro Days, Todd McShay of ESPN is hearing that Bryce Young appears to be the favorite.

"I've heard some buzz that Carolina likes Young at No. 1, but like I said Wednesday (more below), the Panthers are going to put out a lot of smokescreens to keep the competition off the scent. And frankly, they are likely far from a final decision on who they want with the top draft pick."
