BREAKING: Panthers Land No. 1 Pick in Trade with Bears

Carolina makes its move.

Moments ago, the Carolina Panthers struck a deal with the Chicago Bears to move up to the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

In return, the Bears will receive the 9th overall pick, the 61st overall pick via San Francisco, a 2024 1st round pick, a 2025 2nd round pick, and wide receiver DJ Moore.

"You go get the guy you want," Panthers GM Scott Fitterer said at the NFL Combine when asked about potentially trading up for a quarterback. "If you have conviction, you go get him. It's pretty simple that way. If you don't know and you're going to give all these resources to go up and get it, you're hurting your team in the long run. You better be right. You better have conviction if you do move up."
